HCDM never addressed Marshall directly in the tweet. He should've pointed out the douchebag things Marshall has said about the valley but he didn't, he belittled WSU's desire to improve their conference and that came off as looking stupid and extremely insecure. Even more so, because he's the head coach at a university that wrote the book on constantly settling and talking the path of least resistance.

In the interview Goodman did with Muller related to tweet Dan was very clear on that. Dan was spot on. F Gregg Marshall and his BS. He's a fing whiny millionaire who is a great coach but a petty individual

Our coach's passive aggression is pure savagery... and I love it. Muller reps the Valley harder than the Valley reps itself.

We're lucky to have him.

My take exactly. It's funny and the reaction from shocker nation is hilarious. People need to lighten up. Not everything needs to be over analyzed.

?????.........i would guess donor support is up, ability to recruit talent is easier, ability to schedule is enhanced, the almighty dollar from royalty/tickets/revenue sharing has likely increased, the Wichita State University name is associated with some higher academic universities and I would bet that fans/students/alumni enjoy the regular season much more.

Their problem is the top schools in that conference want out, one more round of realignment and they may not like their spot as much..

If that time every comes, I can only hope we are on the list of potential replacements. If so, the eventual invite would have to be on someone’s view of our potential because we have to agree the track record is lacking.

Guessing that it is nearly impossible for ISU to get an invite to that conference given lower level of ISU football.

I am sure Marshall really cares what Dan thinks right now. Yeah, Wichita lost. You have to get there to lose. I would rather lose in round 1...than be sitting at home. If Dan is going to run his Twitter fingers...he has to eventually make a statement.

I loved the tweets last year from Muller regarding the NCAA tournament and scheduling. This time ISU, in the end, looks bad compared to WSU once anyone peelsl back the onion and starts comparing basketball programs/ncaa tourney success. That comparison is going to happen since Muller put the spotlight on it.

Awesome tweet by ISU HC Dan Muller!1

I find it interesting that the ISU "fans" on here that have a problem with it are the same posters that are constantly (post by post) ripping on the program that they supposedly support. I swear some of the posters are trolls from other programs that stay on Redbirdfan and pretend to be Bird fans, so they can over and over rip on everything ISU.

Anyhoo, thank you Dan and.....

GO YOU REDBIRDS!!! :auto-sportbike:

Interesting observation

They may not like it as much but it will still be far better than where they were especially when factoring in ability to generate revenue, fan interest, ability to recruit....etc.

Is that going to happen though? #3 school in a small state, no football, AAC TV is tiny compared to the power conferences and doesnt create a lot more money than what MVC teams get..

ISU needs a couple of guys who are among the richest men in the world as boosters. That's what pays the freight at wichita.

GM will have to change his pregame rant now that he can't blame their conference affiliation for a lower seed. Playing angry does not work anymore when your are the perceived favorite!

Although, I often don't agree with his substitution patterns and the play on the floor, I do love Dan's passion for the Birds and our conference. LOVE IT.

Go Birds!

We can do this too!

what is you basis of your last comment regarding AAC teams 'do not create a lot more money than MVC teams" .

how about a few thousand of the fans that routinely attend ISU sports step up and donate?....the basis of my comment is comparing ISU donors vs other MVC/MAC donors. Given our size and stature it is disappointing when looking at the data.

Considering that Congress just killed the tax benefit of donating I foresee a problem in getting $$, especially considering our current athletic department hasn't done a stellar job in the past--when it was tax deductible.

As of 2017, the AAC contract pays each school $3M.. as a non-football member I am guessing WSU doesn't get a full share.. Seems the TV part of it might bump their budget %5 or so, hardly a game changer.. They were already selling their games out, in a small market can they increase ticket prices much?

It will be interesting to see what their athletic department budget will be in 5 years compared to now
