If only my stream of consciousness were equally valued. Still waiting for Dan to actually move the needle. Maybe more time recruiting instead of tweeting would accomplish more.

He was recruiting;

Okay. Now let’s add the word “successfully” recruiting. Anyone can just recruit. It’s the landing the recruit that’s really the most important part.

Well....no recruitment is successful until a player commits.

Is that really your defense for your argument? Dude, just realize you are wrong sometimes lol.

I don't know man, you don't like that Dan calls out another school for losing, only to call out the coach of the team you're a fan of. Hmmm, what team do you like?

If you looking at the posting history of some of the constantly negative posters, who are supposedly ISU fans, then you can start to figure out which posters have an agenda here on Redbirdfan.net.

Some of these posters have been hanging around here for a long while constantly posting negative spin.
It's sickening, but you just have to look at the name of who is posting and take whatever BS negativity they are spinning as just that...BS.

Anyhoo, looking forward to how the team will work on things in the offseason and how they'll be ready to hit the floor and earn a MVC championship. Turnovers, rebounding, defense, free throw shooting and basketball IQ/shot selection are all areas that need to be worked on.

GO YOU REDBIRDS!! :auto-biker:

Apparently Seth Davis is calling himself RedbirdNation24 - because that is what he said during the selection show - ha, ha, ha.

However, switching conferences did nothing for Wichita, in terms of winning a first round game - failed. Loyola won.

The conference has nothing to do with winning one particular game. The point is, on paper they were able to get a much easier opponent than they likely would have if they were in the valley.

Apparently not easy enough!!!!

Look, I hate Wichita State as much as the next guy and was thrilled to see them lose. But if you're gonna tell me you'd have rather played last year's Dayton team that they played, than the Marshall team they played this year, that's ridiculous. Like I said, ON PAPER they got an easier matchup. Them losing one game had nothing to do with the conference they play in. The fact is, they moved up from a 1-bid league to a 3-bid league, where all 3 tournament teams were top 6 seeds.

witchita lost their top recruit today, PG Alex Lomax.

Hahaha

Big Penny already making a difference for Memphis. Now see if Memphis can add the #1 player in 2019, Wiseman, as he has ties to Big Penny's AAU team too.

:text-+1: Exactly right...the conference change likely helped them get a better seed. But that did not prevent WSU from chocking big time once they had the spotlights on them.

Wasn’t Wichita State a #1 seed out of the MVC just 4 years ago?
Are you implying that all the talk about mid majors getting hosed when it comes to NCAA selection and seeding is unfounded as so many claim on this board and that Wichita’s seed last year was accurate?

I’m stating a fact in the form of a question.

Now i’ll Just be a jerk :angry-devil:

Is there a better seed that a team can get besides a #1 seed?

UMBC was just fine with their 16-seed. :D

They were a #1 seed because they literally won every single game they played. That's what it takes to get a high seed out of a mid-major conference.

Wichita lost again.... their 4* recruit point guard, Alex Lomax, has been granted release from his LOI.
Apparently, Lomax wanted to go to Memphis but didn't like Tubby Smith. Then Penny Hardaway got hired as the Memphis HC. Hardaway was his AAU and HS coach.

The best part is that Marshall wasn't going to release Lomax. https://twitter.com/OldTakesExposed/status/976241660614074374

Instead, he has saved some face and being described as a "good human being" by Yahoo Sports for releasing the kid.

Wichita now turns its attention to a different 4* PG, James Akinjo, who just got released from his LOI to UCONN after Ollie got fired. Patrick Ewing and Georgetown were the first at his door when his recruitment reopened.

It’s hilarious how the media narrative has turned to what a classy move GG made by releasing Lomax. I seem to remember a certain coach throwing a fit when Hawkins tried to enroll at ISU.

If Wichita State stayed in MVC the AAC would not have been a 3 bid league it would have been a 2 bid league. Would the MVC been a two bid league .. questionable. At best they moved from a one bid league to a two bid league. WSU was to the NCAA regardless. Additionally their nonconference results also was a big factor in their higher seed this year. Did moving to the AAC help ... yes but not that much. They went 2 -3 against Cincinnati and Houston and they would have had two games agains Loyola. Thats the difference this year. We will see what the future holds.
