Wichita Loses

The conference has nothing to do with winning one particular game. The point is, on paper they were able to get a much easier opponent than they likely would have if they were in the valley.

Apparently not easy enough!!!!

Look, I hate Wichita State as much as the next guy and was thrilled to see them lose. But if you're gonna tell me you'd have rather played last year's Dayton team that they played, than the Marshall team they played this year, that's ridiculous. Like I said, ON PAPER they got an easier matchup. Them losing one game had nothing to do with the conference they play in. The fact is, they moved up from a 1-bid league to a 3-bid league, where all 3 tournament teams were top 6 seeds.

If Wichita State stayed in MVC the AAC would not have been a 3 bid league it would have been a 2 bid league. Would the MVC been a two bid league .. questionable. At best they moved from a one bid league to a two bid league. WSU was to the NCAA regardless. Additionally their nonconference results also was a big factor in their higher seed this year. Did moving to the AAC help ... yes but not that much. They went 2 -3 against Cincinnati and Houston and they would have had two games agains Loyola. Thats the difference this year. We will see what the future holds.

Great post. Put Wichita in the MVC for Valpo and the Valley is probably ranked higher than the AAC.

All this schadenfraude is making our fan base look petty and envious.
I would kill for a run like the Shockers have had. If their coach is perceived as an ass for getting them to where they now, then I want that kind of ass at the helm of our team.
