Walk away Dan. There is NO WAY this fan base can support this decision making anymore. For ten years we rooted for you to succeed as a former player/alumni. It’s simply time to move on. The decision to essentially allow the clock to run out while down by one solidifies your stature as clueless. Even if we would have rebounded the last shot we would have had minimal time to push the ball up for a desperation shot. “Death by a thousand cuts” - year after year.

So the plan at the end of the game down by 1 was to let them run the clock, get the rebound with 2 seconds left, go the length of the court and hit a buzzer beater for the win. I wonder what the AWS % of those things happening was.

If this game didn’t convince Brennan to fire Muller after this season then nothing will and we’ll be in the same boat next season a year from now.
Why wait till the end of the season? Fire him TODAY! Before the bus gets back to RA. Fire him or lock him in his office and let one of the Assistant Coaches take over.

Reeves/Strong/Freeman 13 for 42 FG
Reeves/Freeman 1/9 3PT
These numbers will not beat any team!!
Not fouling once Indiana St got the ball past mid- court was inexcusable.
Another good game from McChesney (the only positive of the game).

Just another rant, so sorry. We need to treat every single possession, both defensively and offensively like it is the last possession of the game. Fouling a 3-point attempt, especially against a team that is struggling to make a 3, is inexcusable. you only need to merely stand with your arms straight up and quit JUMPING into the shooter. Just stop it!! Its not that tough!!!!! They got 6 points from those two fouls. I would take my chances on them missing both those 3-point attempts. Secondly, I would have preferred we pressed the hell out of them, especially when they lost Julian Larry. NO POINT guard and we let them come down to floor too easy!! Regardless of what he says, does Dan really want to win? Is he hoping for the buyout?? I just do not understand why he cannot coach based on the flow of the game and personnel of the opponent. Its maddening!!

normally you have clock/time management issues in a football game, not a basketball game ... that was, at the very least, bizarre.

Also, would like to see guys that are near the basket use the backboard instead of trying for the swish. Seems like we see way too many four-footers on in simply fall off.

Coaching, coaching and coaching! When is it enough Muller fans? At what point does it become to humiliating? If ISU won’t fire him after today I don’t know what else there is to say.
I would love to start a go fund me for the money. Is it legal?

I totally agree, if the players understand physics. I see waaayyy to many shots in basketball where the player trying to use the glass, has no concept of angle of reflection = angle of refraction, let alone gravity. Plus, the neck of the rim is 6 inches out to the basket. Physics, Physics, Physics - my HS coach preached Physics on shooting and rebounding.

Who is a Muller fan at this point?

If a team is down by one with a 3 second differential, I see you have 2 options.
1) Foul right away.
2) Play reckless defense until you get a quick steal, refs call a quick foul, or they get a quick basket off of you.

not an option- play still defense seven feet back and let them dribble the clock down like they did.

I haven’t run the +/- this season because I’d not seen a discernible difference in lineups being played Until the Wisky game. Then I thought it seemed simple to see, when they played well against the best team by far on the schedule and then the 2nd half of Bradley game- they had 3 bigs in the game. In both cases it was due to Covid/injury limitations that forced the “big” lineup.

Today, The best +/- lineup was the starting “3 bigs” lineup that was +8 in the first 3 minutes and NEVER SAW THE FLOOR TOGETHER AGAIN IN THE GAME. There were 3 ”bigs” on the floor together for 13:29 and they were a combined +10. With 3 guards, they were -13 over 26:31. No foul problems for the bigs. Somebody tell me what I’m missing or how you can view it differently? It wasn’t like the bigs started getting beat because of an adjustment by ISUb?

Benson's article this morning points out the Birds have only won once since 2007 at the Hulman Center. However, somehow, someway - there was a $50 million remodel???? Holy Cow - either the George family and/or the city of Terre Haute really stepped up. The George family is from Terre Haute - owns the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Hulman was the original owner, his daughter, Rose Hulman George inherited it. Similar in a naming situation as the McCaskey's and Halas.
Birdswin, as a racing fan I appreciate your knowledge of Indy - BUT you are a year or two behind. The Speedway is now owned by Roger Penske, who bought it from the George family, Mari Hulman George was the previous owner. Maybe that's how they had some ready cash for a redo of the basketball arena. And of course Tony Hulman, Mari's dad, was not the "original owner" of the Speedway -- he bought it in 1945 from the "real" original owner, the legendary WW I pilot Eddie Rickenbacker.

Which has nothing to do with the crappy performance of the Birds today, so back to our regular programming . . . . .

Alright MadBird. Big racing fan here, too. After 16 years of racing I hung up my helmet when I had neck surgery. I’ve been in and out of racing since was 14. My son, a Redbird alum, now races shifter karts throughout the Midwest.

I know we had another poster a few years ago that ran a late model in central IL. Have no idea what happened to him.

This feels like a reasonable distraction after today’s mess. Maybe the real question should be IS IT MAY YET! 😁
