And the guy needs to know how to handle a down 1 with 34 seconds and other team has ball situation
That I don’t know because you don’t want to distract whatever he’s doing at Gonzaga though I’m sure his agent can make it loud and clear whether he’s interested or not.
I always did think that the TPguy could get us good players! The new coach should be able to recruit, thats obvious. But, we need someone who is innovative and understands how the transfer portal and NIL deals can be used to ISU's advantage. Many here think the TP is the devil, but it's not going anywhere. How can ISU get quality players from the TP?
Also, I would like the coach to come in with a coaching philosophy and target the players who fit in with his system and philosophy. It's obvious our defense has been terrible, so it would be nice if the new coach knows how to put together a defensive scheme, but of course let's not forget about scoring the ball too.

Bruce Weber would be my first choice followed by Tom Crean....assuming 1) They were available, 2) we can afford them and 3) They are at the point in their careers that they would want to stay here.Below is a list of re-tread's. Guys who might be asked to go away at bigger programs.
Joe Dooley-ECU
Brad Brownell-Clemson
Jeff Capel-Pitt
Jerod Haase-Stanford
Mike Hopkins-Washington
Mike White-Florida
Frank Martin-South Carolina
Tom Crean-Georgia
Bruce Weber-KSU
Mike Boynton-Oklahoma St
Weber is a good coach, but he is 65.Bruce Weber would be my first choice followed by Tom Crean....assuming 1) They were available, 2) we can afford them and 3) They are at the point in their careers that they would want to stay here.
That's prolly what people said of Bill Guthridge . . .Not saying he’s old. He’s been an assistant for 15 years and hasn’t taken a job yet. So why ISU? Not saying no, but just don’t see it happening.
I think you just described Brian Jones . . . uhhhh . . . no.I know this is stretch, but it would be nice to have a coach that won't see ISU as a stepping stone...someone where we might stand to have a longtime tenure even if they have some success. Maybe ties to Illinois or the Midwest. Not necessarily an up and comer...maybe a veteran head coach or longtime assistant that might be happy being in Normal and has many connections to other college assistants and high school coaches.
With that said, I'll be fine if Mark Few or Scott Drew wants to apply.
I thought the consensus on here was that was pocket change. I just can't keep up with the pendulum. He'd probably be a good add, but he is currently making something like 2.71 million a year at GC, so he is way out of our price range.
Don't foul and don't rebound. Right? And the guy needs to know how to handle a down 1 with 34 seconds and other team has ball situation
Can't stand either one of them. Hate their sideline antics. Crean's on the down trend at Georgia. Either would be pricey. I'd rather have Weber assistant Chris Lowery than either of these two.Bruce Weber would be my first choice followed by Tom Crean....assuming 1) They were available, 2) we can afford them and 3) They are at the point in their careers that they would want to stay here.
If they hire Lowery the Redbird will be removed from my name. I wouldn't want either of them, but if Crean gets fired i bet Evansville reachs out. Can't stand either one of them. Well, I don't want Lowery, but rather him then either of the others. Doubt any of the three will be in play.If they hire Lowery the Redbird will be removed from my name. I wouldn't want either of them, but if Crean gets fired i bet Evansville reachs out.
We could have had Porter Moser....oh, wait
It's a commuter school with small percentage of students on campus. Also, would we want Yak?Why? He's in a better position as it is. He's right there with Chicago talent and is already in the mvc
