I’ve talked to many people today and I think we forget how good of a job some of these MVC schools are. ISU can make a strong case for being best in the league when you factor in facilities, location, etc. Bradley and MSU are right there too.
There is a report out there from a few years ago that surveyed MVC coaches and ISU came back as the best job in the MVC

Umm most people agree with underwood’s comments, that is why we were so adamant to fire muller, he was pissing away the best job in the MVC and turning us into the laughing stock.
Yeah . . . sure . . . all the comments last year after Arch Madness and thru this year about Brennan not doing his job, questioning his abilities, intelligence, and guts didn’t really mean anything . . . got it.

Well last March he made the comment acting dumbfounded about Muller criticism. He had made the bubble #1 priority with no movement. Less than a year later the bubble is for sure happening after big time commitments. He made the move on Dan. Tried his best to keep Leah. He flipped the narrative. Good on him.

If we make the right hire then perhaps the next coach can recruit some of the current players and sprinkle in some of his he was recruiting at his current school and some guys from the transfer portal. There is a path to a quick turnaround. Time will tell.

This is sort of the issue when posters talk about the program having found depths that have never before been seen, everything about the program being sad, no wonder why players would go elsewhere, etc. It doesn't exactly make it sound like ISU is this diamond in the rough and everything is great, we're just missing that one piece and having a rough patch. I agree that its a fantastic job, but lots of comments seem to have over shot the criticism of the coach and given the impression that ISU is a joke of a school that hasn't accomplished anything for decades. But I agree that ISU is a desirable job and can be very relevant on the national stage. Was only 5 years ago that we were.

I said it when Turgeon was fired at U of MD. I think he would be a great hire at ISU. Turg has National recruiting ties and is well respected. He would give us instant credibility and relevance. He wants to come back to the Midwest.

I was speaking more to the point that ISU is a good job, but yes, it was fair to question Brennan at the time with his unwavering support of a failed coach.
