What's with all the UofI love on Benson's list
He’s obsessed with them. Have heard from people in the know he checks their scores during games (when both ISU/Illini are playing at same time, rare but it does happen). If it were up to him, he’d be in Champaign covering the Illini. Maybe if he ever once asked a hard hitting question he could fulfill that dream but he spent a decade exchanging Christmas cards with Dan.

It's a commuter school with small percentage of students on campus. Also, would we want Yak?
He wouldn't leave there for here. He's from there and is in a huge talent pool. You're operating our appeal

Benson does seem like a nice enough guy, but he’s not very good at his job.

Bruce Weber would be my first choice followed by Tom Crean....assuming 1) They were available, 2) we can afford them and 3) They are at the point in their careers that they would want to stay here.
Kansas State is 14-11 overall and in the middle of the pack of the Big 12 after being picked ninth in the preseason. Why do people think Weber is going somewhere?

Well no one will ever accuse you of age discrimination nor failing to cast a wide net!

Supposedly this will be a relative quick process. Should be interesting as time progresses and rumors start flying. The rumors are already getting juicy. ISU is a more in demand job than I thought.

Who besides Gregg Marshall has shown interest?

My friend asked Coach Underwood at his coaches show tonight about his thoughts on it all and he said the ISU job is a good job. Said everyone he has talked to has been impressed with AD Brennan.

I’ve talked to many people today and I think we forget how good of a job some of these MVC schools are. ISU can make a strong case for being best in the league when you factor in facilities, location, etc. Bradley and MSU are right there too.

I think he is a good coach and would be appreciated in the Valley. The Big 12 has no easy wins and winds up on hot seat lists every year. Last year his conference record was 4-14 and the year before he was 3-15. He is 6-7 this year in conference play with 5 games left. If Kansas State doesn't do well there last 5 games, he might take a step down.
