The decision at the end of regulation summed up the entire season in 50 seconds:

2nd half against InSU: XXXXXXX
Throwing Barry under the bus for targeting: XXXXXXX
Entire game against NAU: XXXXXXX
Throwing Brees under the bus for targeting: XXXXXXX
Entire game against SIU: XXXXXXX
2nd half against WIU: XXXXXXX
Running out the clock with 50 seconds, 2 timeouts, 2nd and 7, tied game, 30 yards to get in range: XXXXXXX
How Spack has been coaching all season: XXXXXXX

HIGHLIGHT TO REVEAL ANSWER: GUTLESS

He coached that team to a loss today plain and simple... He needs to find himself because this whole season hasn't been Brock Spack football other than the South Dakota game... Today the team played Brock Spack football, but unfortunately he didn't coach Brock Spack football... I worry that he's lost his fire and has become complacent because today the players really did rise above the coaching.

I'm not mad.... I'm just disappointed...

The Bisons have a whole week to prepare for MB. Jack Rabbits did not know he was starting. Great he is getting experience under fire. Would be ashame if Mr. Keene and the seniors don't go to playoffs. Wonder if Kolbe will play some next week?

How high are you?
What in the world did you see from Broadnax that makes you think he is Carson’s Wentz reincarnate?
All I saw was a mad-scrambling dude who overthrew everyone.
Kolbe is much better under center...and that’s not saying a whole lot.

I truly don’t know if a win on Saturday gets us a bid to the playoffs. A win, on the road, against #6, I think would have.

Furious about the outcome of this game and the fact that the COACHING STAFF rather than the PLAYERS were the reason doesn’t begin to cover it for me.

Let's first give some credit where credit is due ... the players were ready to play this game against a very good team on the road, and with a RS FR QB playing his 1st game. Give the coaches credit for that .. it was a very impressive showing with our backs against the wall .. on the rod against a very good team. They just beat NDSU by 12 a week ago.

So kudos to coaches for game plans and getting players ready to play.

But the decision to not try to get down field for FG (or TD), after we got the initial 1st down at end of regulation, on our 31 yard line, was way way way too conservative for circumstances. There was just 50+ seconds .. we had 3 downs to decide if we wanted to run out the clock .. there is virtually no risk they will get ball back. If we are in 3rd and long .. then run out the clock .. but 1st and 10 we give up ???

We did same thing against WIU at the end of 1st half last week .. exact same thing, except we just got a 1st down on our 21, and had 3 timeouts and just under 2 mins I think.

Then in OT, we inexplicably decide to throw 3 straight passes given all the obvious arguments against doing so ... small field, clock doesn't matter, our run game was working very well ... mind blowing that we put our hopes on our RS FR QB who clearly had been struggling to throw most of the game.

This was completely winnable game .. and Coaches let team down today.

Great game .. but we let it slip thru our hands.

100% agree except, considering how this coaching staff crapped all over themselves when it mattered, I can’t imagine they had anything to do with getting these boys ready to play. Instead, I’m choosing to give all kudos for game preparation to the players and the players only.
Everything else...spot on.

He has more talent than ROBERTSON HAD....

As much as Zach Lofton had more talent than Doug Collins

as long as you know Collins had grown 3 inches his freshman year and ISU couln't win on the road with him and wasn't a football player...duh... silly man

Great effort.

I’ll echo what many have said. Playing for overtime in that situation with a chance to get a gigantic win on the road is unacceptable. Game was lost there.

Another Disappointing result in a pretty frustrating season.

I’ve calmed down, but only slightly. Thoughts on this game:

Defense: I feel like Dalton Keene has disappeared a little bit. Maybe he’s tying up enough of the line to give guys like Graham and Conley a better shot at the QB but I didn’t hear his name called as often as I like. Good game by Harris keeping their all-Everything WR in front of him the entire game. Hell of a game by Brannon Barry all game, he seemed to be everywhere.

Offense: Broadnax did some good things. He’s a credible dual threat, which Kolbe is not. He needs to work on his accuracy as his throws have a tendency to sail. The combination of 21 and 25 were a force all game to deal with until we went away from them for reasons unknown.

Special teams: Other than Uphoffs run back, a very pedestrian day for this unit. That miss by Slattery looked like a bad snap or a bad hold. Either way, when we needed it, it wasn’t there.

Coaching: I think it’s been addressed enough but the decision making in the last 2 minutes of regulation combined with the playcalling on the offensive series in OT cost us huge, possibly even our playoff bid.

guessing and hoping we're going to see both next week. that will give Bison something to game plan for. Would also like to see them both in wildcat .. keep Bison guessing enough to open things up for Robinson and Smith.

we're still in this .. an OT loss by 3 on road to #6 will help us, if we are 7-4. Just need to beat NDSU next week .. the more I see this team play, the more I believe that game is so winnable .... f we come ready to play again.

Spack is still the guy who brought our program to this level. But he needs to think long and hard about his 2 min decision this week and similar decision last week against WIU before half.

I get SDSU has more offensive weapons and experience than us .. but here they are calling 2 timeouts to get ball back, and we're not calling timeouts when we have the ball ... that speaks volumes. It was a bad decision ... his worst decision all year, by far .. worse than WIU because we had a chance to win in regulation. And it became very low risk once we got the 1st down and they were out of timeouts .. the coaches blew it and they need to admit as much to the players, or risk losing them over this decision.

Again, great preparation great game plans on both sides of ball, and great execution all things considered ... but coaches blew it the last 2 offensive series.
