The new AD will find the resources to fire Dan and bring in a new coach. Another year of Muller is a waste. Take your lumps - eat the reserves where they might be - there are some alums who will step up - and get rid of this trainwreck.

This entire team should not be allowed to wear the name Illinois Sate on the front of their jersey's. It's a slap in face to the legacy left behind by players that actually had talent and gave a shit.
Muller....congrats on destroying your amazing legacy as a player.

Sadly Moser was not a good coach when he was at ISU. But to his credit he learned and got better. Now for our current coach...
If Dan had spent a few years under Majerus (like Moser did), he would probably be a much better coach now. Dan needs to go back to being an assistant coach under a quality head coach.

Well, I wouldn't argue that Stallings was a Majerus, but, Dan's time under Stallings was not productive? I mean, I think I know the answer, I have my own answer, but I mean, Dan WAS an assistant under a reasonably successful coach, and it didn't appear to take.

I watched until 24-11 and turned it off. The lack of hustle was more than I could handle. Bad shooting is one thing and that is almost always. Hustle is something that is in your being. It is not there for most of our players. SAD. So, I turned it back on in the 2nd half. The score was not shown. I checked my phone and it was 66-32. I turned it back off. Embarrassing.

My concern has always been that his career was 100% Stallings. Both as a player and assistant. Not as much diversity of knowledge

Stallings was successful at ISU and somewhat successful at Vandy. He was terrible at Pitt. We’ve had two Stalling assistants in Richardson and Muller. That’s hasn’t been overly successful. Time to close the book.

To all of you that worship Larry Lyons and Dan Muller. All I have to say is I told you so. Congrats to all of you that still think Lyons wasn’t worthless and Muller deserved an extension for winning nothing.

This is the sad end of the train wreck. At least we will have the Lyons half assed blow up bubble to honor his failed years as AD.

If ISU (or Dan) had any balls or brains Dan would be fired before the game tomorrow.

Muller has been a complete failure as a coach. 2 NIT appearances with loaded rosters and now the worst team in ISU history.
If Muller had any dignity he would resign from the head coaching job. Instead he is going to run the program in the ground.

Stalling had a presence as a coach that was real. That part cannot be copied. Muller should have learned from Richardson that you can't copy that. Stalling's main strength(that was probably overlooked) is he had players believing in the system and believing in each other. Guys would run through a wall for each other because all the players felt they were important to the team and each other.

I read an article in the Pantagraph where Dan was praising the teams focus since they came back from break. If this team was focused, I’m not sure I want to see how they play unfocused...

Each year it's got to be getting harder to recruit. We had about 3 straight years of crap with no signs pointing up. Muller's had nine years so it's hard to expect anything new on the upside. A new coach would at least bring some excitement back.
I just don't see how Muller can turn things around at this point. I don't see much player development going on either. We keep making the same mistakes.

At least we have a new AD now. I don'

“going to?” that train has left the station. Muller won’t quit. No one making $600k is going to just quit. This dumpster fire was lit by Lyons and we get to bask in the warm glow of season 9.

So, you give muller an opportunity and he has have to perform to keep the job. Dan shouldn’t be given preferential treatment and allowed to keep a job because if he was as a player. I would have loved to see this work out. It clearly hasn’t!

I was away from the Midwest for most of Stallings time here. What type of offense did he run? Was it this same high screen and throw it around outside shit that we see now?

He first of all was on the same page with his point guard. There were inside touches, post-ups, kicks out for shots, players that knew when to drive when things opened up. The ball movement was good, not to mention being a good transition offense team. He taught the players how to play together. Players talked and knew what they were expected to do.

I’m sure if you talk to Magic Dan this is just a bump in the road!

Muller is kicking back and stealing money from the University at this point.

Lifeless on the bench. Low-Quality effort from the players. A dumpster fire.
