Its a recruiting theory Dan seems to follow. You'd effectively have to graduate or transfer the "athletes" and replace them with pass first point guards, 3 point specialists, slashers, coke machines, defensive guys. You'd have to shift away from the idea of "super high upside" players and replace it with people who have a minimum floor. Dan seems to have a history or finding guys that COULD be All Americans if everything lined up right or could end up being below average at most facets of the game. It might be time to go back and (I hate using this guy as an example, but his skill base makes sense), a player with a similar skillset as Reggie Lynch where you know even if he sucks at everything else, he'll block or alter 15 shots a game.

Again, SEPARATING THE BAD PERSON HE IS FROM THE BASKETBALL PLAYER HE WAS, his basketball ability had a minimum threshold. He was never not going to be a defensive force and anything else you got from him was a bonus. Of course, we are going back to Jank recruits with that.

I look forward to your hate mail for bringing up Reggie Lynch.
What player has Muller recruited or had at ISU that could have been an all American? Why is your threshold could be all American or below average? Seems to seem their are plenty of quality players in between that could fit some type of system or culture you are trying to build?

New AD will give Dan a pass this year unless somebody on here wins the lotto. No Koch Brothers here. Dan gets next year to save his job. In the mean time, we all have a lot more coaching to do😏

That is the hottest take I've seen on this board in a while.
He scored 19 against Wisconsin so he can score against anyone. The biggest difference is in Big Ten games he isn’t able to absolutely destroy them rebounding like he does to ISU.

Really good college basketball player. There’s a reason he’s still playing in college as a senior. He has serious next level limitations. Maybe the Bulls are looking for the next Tom Boerwinkle, but I doubt it.

I still have a bad childhood memory of a game involving Boerwinkle at the free throw line with the Bulls down by 1. It was a 3 to make 2 opportunity. So if he makes 1 of 3 it’s OT. If he makes 2 of 3 Bulls win. It was back in the late 60’s, so my memory may be a little warped, but I seem to remember that if the Bulls win this game they are in the playoffs. First attempt-missed. Ok, you’ve still got 2 more. 2nd attempt-missed, so OT is still an option. 3rd attempt-missed, Bulls lose, no playoffs! Thanks Boewinkle!

Who cares what he does at the next level. I’d kill for a guy like Krtutwig

I would take him also. Just commenting on those that said he isn’t really very good, when he clearly is at this level. That was my point. Maybe he isn’t next level good, but that’s not relevant when he’s schooling his college foes.

I guess I'm getting tired of hearing the exact same words come out of his mouth after every loss he says the exact same thing for the last couple years

for anyone that thinks ISU is going to hire a top-level head basketball coach you are sadly mistaken the Missouri Valley basketball is weak and pathetic so you're not hire some coach from someplace we never heard of and unproven and rebuild and rebuild

The funny part of it is Krutwig isn’t that good. He would get eaten alive if he were in the Big 12. He is some what big, but slow.

As much as it's a relief that the Valley is done with Krutwig, I agree that the 6'-10" back-up (who is only a freshman) will be a problem. I thought he pretty much held his own against Cockburn.
