Explain why we can invest 13 million dollars in a football bubble, but we can't invest in buying out a bad contract? Basketball is truly the only sport at ISU that CURRENTLY can make money. We just can't afford to keep buying out a coach and making the same mistake. That means the next coach needs to make the dance and have some stability before he is given such a huge contract extension.
I am not privy to the numbers but it's been said that donations and season ticket holders are trending down. A quick analysis would suggest that a program being coached by a guy for 10 years and not a lot of ROI from that coach might be a great deal of our issue. We do see attendance down all over the country at sporting events so we can factor that into the equation but at the end of the day we need to ask ourselves...if we can't afford to fire him, can we afford to keep him?
