You all are trying to control the uncontrollable. In Muller we trust. He knows what he has in Romine (and why he didn't play), Dixon and Idowu.

I agree, but Muller did Romine zero favors by saying he was 100% ready yet he never saw the court. In a strange way, perhaps that’s Muller’s way of motivating Romine?
I’m simply suggesting, based on stats, previous play (at UTEP), and the way he was treated last season, I hardly see Romine as the end-all be-all.

I don't think anyone is saying he is the savior or end all be all. I think it was two of us who stated he was running with the first team before took time away. That's it. It was others who began attacking him and then Dan for last season.

I would still go after JUCO coke machines or a grad transfer before we put our faith in Romine

Right now we are over one scholarship so we would need two more departures to bring in another big. I could see Dixon following penny and that would free up one but not sure where the second comes from.

Your assuming Gassman or Chastain is on scholarship for 18-19?

That's a good point and one that I don't completely understand. I think Dan finally had to address the Christian situation, albeit briefly, maybe felt he was painted in a corner...and tried to respect Christian's privacy yet not sell himself out either. I'm not sure.

Just Chastain. Did I have my numbers wrong?

Right now I think we are all set, but with Gassman and Chastain not receiving a scholarship. If another person drops it will be interesting to see what Muller does. Go after another Juco, or decide who gets one between those two? My gut feeling is Chastain would win over Gassman -- it just sucks that both won't get one. Heck, maybe Gassman leaves. I think he can be pretty proud of what he did this year. There's got to be some other teams what would value him more than us. Bradley could use a shooter.

Not if your including Chastain.

Priority on winning is hating on ISU?

No it's your priority of hating on kids who haven't seen the floor yet or who you don't feel worthy of your support. You ragged on Paris Lee and he was MVC poy. Btw you can support players and still want to win. If not playing Romine for a small part of last season can get us three years instead of two then that is a win for the team.

Evidence of PLee ragging?

It’s on the old board. I remember you ragging on Paris more than once and spouting off about how ISU needs a real point guard.

Don’t reply to this with feigned denial. You did do this dude.

Running with ISU’s first team didn’t really mean all that much this year IMO. For some perspective, Matt Hein was a starter.

The picture Muller painted was that Romine was 100% ready, but not performing at the level to earn any playing time. I hope I’m misreading that.

So it’s ragging to ask that a point guard have better than a 1.2 assist to turnover ratio? I’ll stand by that criticism. We did need a better point guard than the freshman PLee, and he turned into one.

Sorry. Any iota of praise will forever be seen as being an apologist or lover of said praisee, and you hope that the program forever fails to thrive. Don't you know how the internet works?

I agree with you that he had great coaching and turned into a tremendous player.

I have a feeling there was some miscommunication when Dan said that. He actually said he was available and eligible to play. He did not say he was 100% ready at all. I suspect it was a little bit of a delicate situation and the lack of prep that Romine had as he was away from the team for almost the entire first semester and therefore wasn't integrated in the team at all. Dan also probably was considerate of how hard it was for EC to reintegrate into the team (he never fully did this year) after missing key time in the pre-season and early season games and was trying to avoid two of those situations in his regular rotation.

There were plenty of times where ISU was in severe foul trouble with Fayne out and playing people out of position where they could have used a big just eat up some of the minutes and any body would do and Dan didn't play him. I assume Dan was also holding out hope that he would get a waiver for the year and if he were to play him at all, that might throw off that possibility.

Given the known facts, one can only surmise that Muller hates winning

So now you admit to evidence of ragging even though your implication was that you are pure of such a thing.

You are a piece of work. A negative one at that.
