I don't think I have ever said this but Sox fan I would like to buy you a beer at the Pub2 someday. Can we just not bring up the Sox!!
Beer sounds good, but can’t promise you I won’t bring up the Sox. Pretty excited about my White Sox this year. And as far as being use to watching bad teams, I’ve been watching the White Sox since the mid-sixties.

Rico, I agree this is the place for all our worthless ISU opinions it just seems the haters are out in force due to a lack of winning. Losing sucks but I think we are all fans of the same team.

Why is one deemed a "hater" because they are tired of losing? Shouldn't a fan want their school do everything in the power to win?

Here we are in year 9 with the current coach and the program has taken a step or three backwards and I'm not happy about it. The opposite of hate would be love. Is there anybody out there that loves what's happening? Yes, it's rhetorical, but if wanting change at the top makes me a hater, then sign me up.

I don’t agree with those that think it would take 4 years to get back to challenging for a top 3 spot. In college basketball you are only a good coach and 2-3 good players from being competitive. The reason for pessimism is when does that clock start? It isn’t happening with Dan unless several IF’s happen. If the new AD makes him turn over his staff and get a couple good X and O guys, if the young guards stay, and if you get a couple competent bigs. I have no confidence in any of the 3 happening. The current staff and players even if they stayed might get to 5th-6th and escape Thursday, maybe. I fear as usual he will lose 2 or 3 good players. Somebody said we will just replace them, sure.... and we will again make the excuse we are young as we play in yet again. I hope I am wrong, I would love to eat crow on this. But it’s

Because 04 must be a relative of Danny! You throw out someone is a hater or resort to name calling because someone else has higher expectations of the program. We shall see where this program is in 2023/24. Because the one thing most of us agree on is Dan isn’t going anywhere. I would love to discuss the greatness of the program. I need consecutive wins in a row to do that!

Wanting change and disagreeing is not being a "hater" but some posters complain about anything minus a national championship. I agree Dan needs to be replaced but also know that is not likely due to money. The people on this board that only say fire Dan or say the players are not good are haters and I am confused to why they come back.

I guess it is more of a half full or half empty glass mentality. I watch the games hoping they continue to improve. I also know we have a new AD and he needs to be given a chance to do his job.

Funny one, but please go back and read. I didn't call anyone out specifically. The repeated negativity is what I was calling out. Being related to Dan would be great because I could tell him to his face his motion offense sucks and stop playing zone. Also stop pulling kids after one mistake during a game then benching them for extended time.

@AllFacts totally agree on those four. We need to add two front line players that can play defense and offense. Not just a portion of one. They don't have to be all Americans but they cannot be one dimensional.
We get two players like that and it will make a world of difference. There are some current players that could be effective role players. They need to play in the right situations and asked to play within their realistic capabilities.

I was watching some of the highlights of the 2017 team. Defensively the length of Hawkins, Phil, and David and athletism they brought vs our front current front line is so desperate. We were much better man to man that year but when we chose to play zone the length and athletism in the back was great.
I appreciate your insight Redbird222, with the addition of 2 solid front line players would do this group some huge justice! The 2017 MVC championship squad was a tough bunch!

The 4 year timeline is fair. First calls for his firing truly began last year. They are growing this year (year 1). If money isn’t there then next year is year 2. Fire Muller and bring in a new guy is year 3. Probably can’t expect him to deliver immediately like a Jank did. So likely year 4 to get to the middle of the pack.

When Horne, Reeves, Fleming, and Washington leaves with Muller, you will be back to square one.

Transfers are the norm these days, which supports my point on why Horne and Reeves to me should find a better situation for their talents. Let’s be honest, they are wasting their careers at ISU with Dan at the helm. They will never win anything of significance and likely never see Saturday in St. Louis. Both guys could play at better programs and showcase their abilities in a more competitive environment.

Sorry but I struggle where you’re seeing these signs of winning coming right around the corner. They are getting beat by some really poor teams. You can reference taking Drake to OT, but Valpo exposed Drake in a beatdown yesterday, so that doesn’t hold much weight. Every trend with ISU b-ball is negative. Losing more, getting blown out more, recruiting worse players - I find it hard to see positives.
I zero signs this program will turn the corner anytime soon. ZERO.

Probably because he’s not lining their scam-artist pockets.
I’ll say this about Muller, he may not be a great coach, but he strikes me as a man of great integrity. That AAU system is Chicago (not unlike any other big city) is filthy.
You don’t have to play the game. We aren’t going after the Derrick Rose’s and Anthony Davis’ of the world.

And what integrity? The same that allowed Milik Yarbrough to walk all over him? Geoffrey Allen to be a glorified drug dealer. Bryant Allen as well.

It’s all good. I’m sure those trips to Florida for the 2 ⭐️ studs are huge tax write offs.

Not sure how it ever got equated that yelling the loudest proves one has higher expectations. It could just make you a loudmouth. And how exactly is throwing out someone is a hater any different than throwing out they must be a relative of the coach? This double talk is confusing for us old farts 😘

Allowing Milik to “walk all over him” or finding out “Allen was a drug dealer” are sad situations, but different from paying AAU coaches under the table.

In Muller's case...he isn't missing out on recruits due to Porter, Wardle, or Mullins paying them. He is missing out on them because they don't like him. You add that to his inability to coach, and that's a recipe for disaster. Dana Ford has 2, former MO Mr. Basketballs. That's getting it done on the recruiting trail. It hasn't helped Dana dominate the Valley...but he has mastered the art of recruiting.
