Happy with the win, but extremely disappointed with the season. The thought of going from preseason contender to a very probable 7th place play-in team leaves me shaking my head. I really hope that Bruninga, Fisher, Boyd, Hillsman and Ndiaje learned a sobering lesson this year and will be ready to compete next year.

How many layups did Drake miss in the second half? I compare this to the Loyola win because it really didn’t have that much tondonwith how we played.

About as many as Copeland and ISU missed

If we beat Mo St we will be 5-3 against top 4. That bodes fairly well for Arch.

With one of those losses on one of the craziest finishes to a game ever @ Missouri State. And had the game won with a 5 point lead with 7 seconds left.

Just about any MVC team can make a case for optimism heading into St. Louis. Even last place Evansville has wins over Drake, Loyola, and Missou State.

So in order for it to be a good win for you the opposing team must make almost every shot?

You see what you want to see. Till we hold every team scoreless, make every shot and commit no fouls or turnovers we will be a ship floundering in the ocean in my eyes.

I have been playing, coaching, or watching basketball for 60 years. NEVER EVER have seen that strategy before. Astounding! DM went all in on ending the losing streak and damn if it didn’t work. Really happy for Boogie. He mad a couple of really clutch threes !! Actually happy for ALL the seniors as they all played outstanding! Enjoying a long postponed victory cigar!

Unlike Dan’s innovative inbounds play, I don’t see other coaches copying this strategy.

I wasnt able to watch the game. What was the strategy anyway?

Up two points with shot clock off, we fouled on purpose to force a one and one. They missed. We made 2 FT's, fouled again, I think they missed one and one again? And we made FT's and won.

That should be a flagrant

Anyone have video of this? I sit on the other side of the arena and didn't have a clear view of what happened. The refs pretty quickly said there was nothing there and moved on.

Hein inadvertently stuck his left hand in the Drake kid’s face screening out on a loose ball rebound. The Drake kid, pretty obviously in this Bird fans biased opinion, responded by grabbing Hein’s bad hand and giving it a yank. I thought it blatantly dirty, and the Drake kid only went for that hand because it was injured. Obviously reading a lot into intent and motive, but that’s how I saw it. But why else would he target to hand?
That was the cheapest of cheap-shots. I don't know how the refs could watch the replay and not call a flagrant foul. To me it was obvious that it was totally intentional and not an accident.

Not only was this a big shot by Boogie, I loved how MY dribbled his way out of the double team and found the open man.

Throw the ball to Milik in the post and good things happen. It's not complicated. He had one turnover in there that I remember, which was the pass to Fayne if he catches was a layup. No one in the league can stop him inside with Fayne in the game because you have to put someone small on him.

I don't expect many coaches copying HCDM's first intentional foul, but I got it right away. Because I was thinking we were about to lose another game on a banked in three as before. Unless a coach had been burnt, twice in the same season, no less on a long crazy shot they probably won't try it.

Now the second intentional foul I did not get. Still don't.

so, no one has video?

Since it was on CBS Sports, can't just go watch a reply that I know of. ESPN games can go back and watch again.
ya, i tried that. only way will be if someone DVR'd it.

I have the game DVR'd, but have no idea how to post any of it

I don't understand the rationale because we were up 4. If we foul and allow them to shoot free throws we then inbound the ball up 2 with 11 seconds left... setting ourselves up for the same situation as the disaster at MSU. At least make them make a shot.
