RBFANTOO said:That was the cheapest of cheap-shots. I don't know how the refs could watch the replay and not call a flagrant foul. To me it was obvious that it was totally intentional and not an accident.ISU FAN 1 said:Adunk33 said:Anyone have video of this? I sit on the other side of the arena and didn't have a clear view of what happened. The refs pretty quickly said there was nothing there and moved on.
Hein inadvertently stuck his left hand in the Drake kid’s face screening out on a loose ball rebound. The Drake kid, pretty obviously in this Bird fans biased opinion, responded by grabbing Hein’s bad hand and giving it a yank. I thought it blatantly dirty, and the Drake kid only went for that hand because it was injured. Obviously reading a lot into intent and motive, but that’s how I saw it. But why else would he target to hand?
Any chance we can resign Will Ransom for a couple of games?Redbird Alum 2004 said:Maybe next year first game against them Mr Fisher puts Noah on his ass on a screen? Maybe Rey then rejects a shot right into his face.

What would have been the call here if Matt Hein was a Wichita State player when they played in the valley?
Redbird Alum 2004 said:Man that makes me angry watching that. Surely that isn't all fan bias right? I mean non ISU fans would think that is intentional

I watched that whole thing. Hein can be abrasive, the Drake player was clearly annoyed. If Hein didn't have an injured hand it would have been nothing. I don't think the Drake targeted his hand, the hand was just in his facek, etc. Kinda of a knee jerk reaction that happens all the time. I'd loved to see a replay though.
