Arkansas Little Rock is 12-2 in the Sun Belt and has a 3 game lead over 2nd place. We beat them and are 3-9 in 9th place in MVC. Makes sense that the MVC is the worst conference.

If they would've held on vs West Virginia I would say yes. Not sure how much the committee will value a win against Colorado vs playing in one of the worse conferences in the nation

MVC is #11 conference in the country out of 32.

The conference is awful this year. Take out UNI and where does that leave the conference? 20th? Let's be fair

Take out Evansville and the conference is better. This argument makes no sense and isn’t possible, so why even say it?

Ok, let's do that. Let's compare a UNI-less MVC to the 12th conference, the MAC.

MVC: 92, 100, 108, 139, 146, 148, 154, 202, 262
AVG - 150.1

MAC: 88, 112, 117, 133, 150, 155, 162, 164, 188, 205, 225, 242
AVG - 160.1

A UNI-less MVC dropped a grand total of...0 spots.

Btw, I was wrong about the MVC being 11th. The "one of the worst conferences in the nation" MVC has actually passed up the MWC for 10th.

And 10th place is what?? Horrible and substandard. If you'd like to discuss further I'll be up in Cedar Falls on Wednesday. Hope to see all the redbird faithful there

I fully support removing Evansville. Only D1 program in the country whose men's and women's team have yet to win a conference game.

You know the drop off between 8 and 10-15 is significant with respects to conferences. You have to be fair. Let's see offensive and defensive efficiency is horrible. NET rankings (new valuation) last time I checked is God awful. SOS... the list keeps going. If you really want to rev up the engine think about how we are having one of our worst seasons in one of the worst seasons the mvc has had top down in years! Unacceptable!!!

Please correct me if I'm wrong here. NET has replaced RPI as one more metric used to EXCLUDE teams not in the Power 6. And what Loyola did two years ago is completely inconsequential this year. The big ten might go 11 deep?!?!? Then, the Big East will get their fill. The Pac 12 is looking stronger. The American and A 10 will grab a few more bids. The math doesn't work out for conferences like the valley.

There are only so many seats at the table and who doesn't want to see a 10th place Minnesota in the dance?

If UNI cannot win the tourney down in the Lou, the week leading up to St. Pairing Day will be very long and anxious for the Panthers.

I would guess that UNI could lose 1 more regular season game and still get in, though their seed would be determined by who it was. If they lose to us or Eville, probably looking at them playing in the last four in game for the 11th seed. If it is someone in the middle probably looking at a 10-12 seed, largely depending on who wins the conference tourney. Are they safely in? No, experience tells me no mid-major is ever safe, but they have a pretty decent chance right now sitting sitting at a 37 NET ranking.

Miss the days when MVC had 3 or 4 teams in the top 25, and wasn't that long ago......all started when Tulsa left. ISU could be competitive in all the sports other than MBB in the CUSA , AAC or MAC. ISU would be at the top 3 in the MAC in other sports programs, and in a couple three seasons, the MBB could be competitive even in the MAC with the right coach. A bit longer in the AAC or CUSA.

UNI will beat us by at least 20. They still have to be mad with that loss to us, and we don't travel well this year, or I guess you can say we just don't travel at all if that means winning. The real question is can we beat Evansville on the road?

Not that long ago? Tulsa left 24 years ago in 1996. I wasn't even at ISU yet.

When is the last year the MVC had 3 or 4 teams in top 25?
