No doubt Dan can be stubborn and hold to his values. Ego?? Not in the way it's insinuated, imo. I mean, he's got an athletes ego...confidence, baller-type...but I don't believe for one sec he's ever done anything outside of what he believes is best for each of his teams.

Regarding Romine, someone suggested a RS, he already used his RS transferring in from UTEP.

I believe Muller continues to believe in Hein. Hein has shown something with his effort and grit as others have said. He did not have a good game at UNI. Hein and Gassman are good defenders in a zone but do not have to foot speed to keep up with guards/wings in a man defense.

What we know:
Keyshawn
Madison
Milik
Phil
David
Boogie

So now, we are left with Clarance, Gassman, Taylor, and Hein fighting for the final 2 spots of the rotation. With how much he has played this season, regardless of how he is playing, he still averages the 6th most minutes per game this season.

What I expected:
Hein
Taylor
Elijah (9th man, foul trouble)

What I want:
Taylor and Elijah with Ike coming in as the 9th man for an offensive boost.
Matt is the 10th. That is an intended dig against Matt, I love his zone defense and hustle. But a lot of times, teams shoot the ball against us way too well to play the zone. I believe Taylor needs to stay in the lineup to get through the freshman wall he has hit. Elijah needs time too. Someone said that EC has shown us nothing. I disagree. He has shown us explosiveness and effort. He is working his ass off every time he is on the court. He needs to work on decision making, which is something that a player needs game experience to fix.

6.) Some have Boogie in, as well as I do. If you start one game, you are not out of the rotation the next.

7.) Dan likes Hein so I think he will stay in no matter what everyone else thinks.

8.) Either Taylor or Gass. I think they are fairly similar to what they bring to the table. Outside shooting, rebounding and a liability on Defense. I think Ike has enough court sense to be in the right in the passing lanes, and I thought Taylor played much stronger post defense against Koch on Wednesday.

I personally would rather see EC in there somewhere. He can be an asset when going against pressure, but I have a feeling Dan does not trust him just yet. Like many have said, we are in Limbo right now, play for the future!

As far as Romine goes. It looks as so there is a physical issue with him. He did not look comfortable in warm ups on Wednesday. Looked VERY awkward during lay ups and was maybe the only player on the bench not overly engaged during the game. Which leads to the question of our record since he has starting dressing/practicing. I hope there is not the issue, but is there a correlation?

Tell ya this. The one kid who would have benefitted more than anyone on the team, with Romine's presence, would have been Taylor.

Truly trial by fire for TB this year.

I disagree. Hein making the 8 man rotation would tell me that we need guard depth. With Madison's propensity to foul (he is second on the team in fouls, and leads the team in foul outs, including missing 2 games), and the fact that we don't want Key to be in foul trouble, you put Hein in the 8 man ration to help bring the ball up the floor on offense, and stop the Point Forward Turnover Machine experiment, and keep key from guarding the other team's best guard and getting into foul trouble. Nothing to do with stubbornness or ego, and more to do with what our players do regularly and the options we have available, in my opinion.
Dan indicated it’s really going to be an 8-1/2 man rotation, when foul trouble surfaces.

Agree and it makes sense why some universities were rumored to be only offering TB, and I believe ISU was too, the 4 year scholly over 5 years.

I did not say there is, and I hope there is not, but negativity is contagious. I have just noticed our production since he is back has slid quite a bit. I hope, and guessing, it is just a coincidence.

Completely agree.

Anyone one who has not played at a D1 level or higher is now banned from any participation on this fan board...unless they promise to blow sunshine and rainbows.

While the loss of Lee is hurting the loss of McIntosh and Hawkins aren't all that bad. I think the loss of Yak is worse.

If it were me, Gassman and Hein would be my 9 and 10. The few times EC has had extended playing time, he actually did a few good things. You can see the the potential between mistakes. Let him play!
