Let's just be honest guys...he really wasn't that good. I'm happy to see him go and use our scholarships wisely...like on Chastain or a juco transfer. With that said I wonder if Romine will play next year because if he doesn't we are in some trouble with relying on freshmen.

Let's be honest guys. He spent 3 years here and missed half of each season injured. Nobody overcomes that. If his feet weren't prone to metatarsal stress fracures he likely would have paid off in a big way.

Best of luck to David as I think he is a great kid.

This is a story of a lot of injuries and it hurt his progress. Sometimes the situation is not always fair when there are lots of injuries - for him and for the team.

Bring in a Juco monster big man.

Could he have paid off, yes. Was it likely? That’s a big question. The results were not there for the investment. Considering the amount of time he sat out, I am surprised he couldn’t bulk up any. If he was able to grow stronger, it could have helped him on both ends of the ball. That would have increased the likelihood of success.

This move tells me that Romine is probably on the roster next year and is probably in line for major minutes and the 4/5 even before David left. I'm cool with that.

Again...why the love affair with Romine? He was average in HS and well below average at UTEP. I could care less if he stays or not and I certainly don’t expect anything from him if he does stay.

I’m surprised to hear that Romine was running with the first team prior to his absence last year. His stats before coming to ISU were less than stellar. It must have been a tremendous turnaround or else he was a defensive and rebounding beast in practice after transferring. I’d like to see a JUCO transfer with lots of game experience at the 4-5 position come to the program next year. Idowu has size but can he be a key factor next year? We need to be physical in the post and rebound.

Or maybe he looked good going against DN...just like everyone else did.

Two thirds of our roster stunk. Why would that surprise you? This isn’t the last departure needed to get this roster up to a D1 talent level.

He’s average to below average everywhere else, but dominates in ISU practices. That’s priceless, and speaks volumes to the talent level here.

So his injuries contributed to him missing a simple layup in nearly every game he played in? Given how uncoordinated and lost he looked most of the time I just find him ever being good really hard to believe whether he was "injured" or not.

Agree that David did not live up to expectations/promise. David had great character, hustle and image but bit by the injuries and more importantly just did not measure up in the end. He would make an occasional big time play that I believe gave us all false hope. I expected a lot more from David this year and now think that he was propped up last year (2017) by the talent around him which made him look better than he actually performed. He did not improve in any material way year over year.

This change is a good move for ISU and I hope to see some more roster shuffle otherwise I think next year and ore importantly subsequent years are in jeopardy given where the competition resides. We have some serious talent at the upper end of the roster but ISU could be sorely lacking if many of the unproven/unknown players do not perform or do not meld together as a cohesive team.

No, but we know what your eye for talent is. I want to be better than mediocre. If Romine was good enough to help...he would have played last year. If he was running with the 1st team and dominating like some say...he wouldn’t have been the water boy. Unless, Muller wanted to lose.

Or its entirely possible that Romine was not physically and/or mentally ready to play because he stayed away from the team and basketball for close to 5 or 6 months. Or its entirely possible they are planning to petition for a medical redshirt. But, I'm sure you are right, Muller has always had it out for this program...

The kid already had 1 year lost at utep when his redshirt was pulled. Dan did the right thing by pocketing him to get a redshirt year. That caring about his players will go a long way to keeping players here. See Milik.

That's your "opinion"? You're "right" I'm sure missing 3 months of practice time each year would have no impact on a players performance. That's why EC came in after his "injuries" and set the conference on their collective ears. "Thanks"

1.) Ndiaye shot .682 from the line. He was better than most when it came to shooting from the line. To compare with the guard he came in with, Hein was .649 from the line.

To say he was a liability from the line means we have some guys who were down right atrocious.

2.) You could say Ndiaye had a lot of potential. Considering the years of scholarships we have invested in him, separate from any 2-for-1 recruiting deal, his results were far, far below the investment. We have a chance to really upgrade this scholarship position.

3.) Hopefully this is a lesson learned for the expectations that should come from investing in a 2-scholarship package deal when the target is a project like Ndiaye was and still is. These types of investments can tie up a significant amount of resources for 4-5 years.

Perhaps we have 1...2...3 guys who could transfer to the same school. Perhaps this would be a risk Tennessee State wants to take. What I'm not hearing is the words "grad transfer" which would mean a school will have to invest 2 years to potentially get one from a guy who has not stayed healthy.

I wish Ndiaye the best and feel bad for him he was not able to stay healthy to start the year, nor really produce. I am excited what we could do with this open ride in terms of an impact player.

It would be interesting to see if our men's team would cut any scholarships, as our women's team just cut 5.

I think they cut five players, which opens up 5 spots.
