Hmm wonder if this means Hein is gone as well.

My jaw dropped when I read this. Not to say I'm disappointed or whatever but it's just surprising he would transfer down/sit 1/play one. I think another possibility is that he has not been playing basketball that long. Maybe his heart wasn't "in" it and the injuries would sure be discouraging to me if I was in his shoes. Best of luck to David.

Now to Hein... Anyone know who he is dating? That will tell you that he will be at ISU as long as he wants.

This went over my head. Who's he dating?

I've been meaning to ask for 3 years. Where does the King stuff come from?

You haven’t been asking anything. You have been making excuses for the handcuff buddies. It’s time to move on from Hein and use scholarships wisely.

I don't mind if Hein stays. He's a good presence in the locker room and seems like a hard worker. But he can perform that role just fine as a walk-on.

I agree that Matt staying is fine by me. I'm actually okay with this. Will miss David as he seemed like a good kid, but am okay where we are now. A juco would be okay to balance classes but probably not completely necessary. Still good overall size.

I wish David the best of luck. As everyone else is saying, being 7'' is okay if you can be on the court and be effective. He really was neither of those.

We saw flashes about 3 games a year, where guards would be able to just loft the ball at the rim and David would slam it home, but he was commonly out of position, often pushed around in the post and was a liability from the line.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt, the constant leg and foot injuries probably set him back 2 full years. He would be entering his Sr. year with the experience of a 1 year starter or less. This probably does not hurt the team much, especially with Rey coming in.

Good luck, David!

1.) Ndiaye shot .682 from the line. He was better than most when it came to shooting from the line. To compare with the guard he came in with, Hein was .649 from the line.

To say he was a liability from the line means we have some guys who were down right atrocious.

2.) You could say Ndiaye had a lot of potential. Considering the years of scholarships we have invested in him, separate from any 2-for-1 recruiting deal, his results were far, far below the investment. We have a chance to really upgrade this scholarship position.

3.) Hopefully this is a lesson learned for the expectations that should come from investing in a 2-scholarship package deal when the target is a project like Ndiaye was and still is. These types of investments can tie up a significant amount of resources for 4-5 years.

Perhaps we have 1...2...3 guys who could transfer to the same school. Perhaps this would be a risk Tennessee State wants to take. What I'm not hearing is the words "grad transfer" which would mean a school will have to invest 2 years to potentially get one from a guy who has not stayed healthy.

I wish Ndiaye the best and feel bad for him he was not able to stay healthy to start the year, nor really produce. I am excited what we could do with this open ride in terms of an impact player.

It would be interesting to see if our men's team would cut any scholarships, as our women's team just cut 5.

I hope this means we relieve Yarbrough of most of his point forward responsibilities and stick him in the post next season. By the end of the season he was an automatic double team when he got the ball down low. If he improves his interior passing and recognition, a lineup with Fayne and Yarbrough in the post and Taylor out on the wing could be a lethal combination.

I'm guessing that one of the things that Milik needs to work on to be an NBA draft pick in the 2019 draft is his ball handling and passing skills.
I would imagine that Dan is going to have him handling the ball some so he can work on that. At his size I don't see him playing down low much in the NBA, so thinking that is not something he will be working on much. If there is a matchup that would favor that than I'm sure Dan will exploit that.

This move tells me that Romine is probably on the roster next year and is probably in line for major minutes and the 4/5 even before David left. I'm cool with that.

Yep. He was running with the first team before he took time away from the team.

So JJ scholarship is covered so. Redbirds are covered now? Time to get going right

Looks like Chastain & Gassman will not be on scholarship, unless there is another departure

So did he regress that much that he didn't play in one game. I don't understand that

I'm sure he will be a candidate for a medical redshirt.

I wish Daouda "David" N'Diaye the best. When da King was making good moves....I shivered and thought he had the best tall man stamina and stature that has played on DCollins court. I was expecting a great season for him.

Let's just be honest guys...he really wasn't that good. I'm happy to see him go and use our scholarships wisely...like on Chastain or a juco transfer. With that said I wonder if Romine will play next year because if he doesn't we are in some trouble with relying on freshmen.

I’m surprised to hear that Romine was running with the first team prior to his absence last year. His stats before coming to ISU were less than stellar. It must have been a tremendous turnaround or else he was a defensive and rebounding beast in practice after transferring. I’d like to see a JUCO transfer with lots of game experience at the 4-5 position come to the program next year. Idowu has size but can he be a key factor next year? We need to be physical in the post and rebound.
