How many 5 star players have ever come to ISU? I am excited for the players that are coming in. As a fan you should be as well. Thumbs up to you knocking kids that have not even stepped foot on our court yet. This season has been by far the worst in recent memory but why make negative comments about two of our freshman or incoming kids? I get you are mad about Dan and the administration you have made that very clear, and some of your points I do agree with but knocking the players is a low blow.

I am not knocking any players - it was a knock on the fans who spew that sort of stuff.

I am not excited about the incoming class - nor do I think they will be terrible. None of them had a P5 offer or even legitimate consideration from what I can tell. So no, I am not excited. However, I haven't seen any of them play in a college basketball game, so I wont write them off.

Interesting word choice. Spew? Being hopeful or positive and expressing that on social media is considered "spewing"?

What a sad world you must live in.

I think it would be a much sadder world to have high hopes about and truly believe that these somewhat lightly recruited kids will save Dan and ISU basketball. I prefer to live in a world where I remove bias from my thinking and create my opinions based on what I actually witness and experience, not with my heart.

Unfortunately, that would just lead me to heartbreak and disappointment on a daily basis with redbird basketball.

However, I’m not here to judge how others handle the Great ISU Depression we find ourselves in.

"The Great ISU Depression" LOL sums it up well. A 22 year depression.

Need someone like Trump to come in and turn things around for ISU basketball like he turned around the economy.

Would you take Marcus Domask on this team? How about Elijah Childs?

Just a couple of Valley studs that had ZERO P5 offers. Stop focusing on the offers they get. It's silly.

Childs was a 3 star recruit and Domask was Mr. Basketball. Not power 5, but they are clearly better than what we've recruited lately and have coming in.

Reeves was a three-star recruit and Abdou had several P5 offers. You didn't like Horne when he signed here either. I don't like the current state of the program and would like a change, but pissing all over a recruit before they step foot on campus is hilarious to me.

Clearly, you have seen Fleming, Andrews and Washington more than everyone else, so what do you dislike about their skill set?

Bubble Hawkins and Roger Powell may have been the last 5 star BB players signed onto ISU.

I was/am excited about Reeves and you can see that I said so when he signed. He was being recruited by legit programs as well (However, ended up here because Wisconsin wouldn't give him a scholarship). I honestly don't remember how I felt about Horne, but he was getting offers from St. Louis and Northern Kentucky, which have been much better basketball programs than ISU. I honestly don't know what schools saw in Abdou other than his athletic ability because he's not very skilled and not strong. Which, at D1 being long and athletic now is enough to get you interest (probably why quality of play is way down).

Next years recruiting class is filled with guys that don't have many offers from good programs. Maybe they turn out, but I don't like the odds. If ISU wants a chance Dan better find a way to get a couple JUCO guys (which I have a feeling someone is leaving next year because we are still actively recruiting).

No one isu is bringing in has the accolades of Domask or Childs, so let’s not go there.

Dan has signed players with some injury concerns. Likely a reason they’re under the radar players. Like I said, they may work out however I’m not sitting here thinking any of them are program changing players.

Excuse me for not jumping aboard the hype train before these guys set foot on a college basketball court. Highlight reels can be quite deceiving.

I'm not saying he isn't a good player, but what unique accolades did Childs bring with him? Was it his 3 star status, because we have 4 of those on the roster. Was it his all-state honors, because Bruninga and DJ were both all state as well.

I think Domask is easily the best recruit in this year's class in the Valley. But I would say DJ and Childs are similar in production during their freshman years (DJ's now, vs Childs' in 17-18).

Besides Flemming's shoulder issues, what other injury concerns do next year's recruits have?

You are correct that there is no way to know if they will be that good but we could have said the same thing about these Domask and Childs

Childs was a three star recruit with offers from Bradley, Indiana State, and St Louis - no P5.
Domask was a 2 start recruit that initially committed to Northern Kentucky but switched to SIU when NKU coach left for Cincinnati - no P5. Domask perhaps would have received better offers due to his senior season in high school had he not committed early to NKU

Domask is doing great and should be freshman of the year in MVC; however, Horne is having a great freshman year. Horne averages 8.9 points per game for the year and that is up to 11.1 in MVC play. His FG% is 46.4% and 43.8% from 3. I think he is holding his own. BTW both were 2 start recruits with no P5 offers.

Reeves and Boyd are both 3 start recruits and I believe both show potential.

We have 3 freshman recruits that we signed early. This is hopefully working to our advantage similar to Domask and Childs. The potential for them to come to ISU and make an impact is much greater than other Muller recruits which we knew were going to be projects or stretches. Once again no guarantees but there is reason to be optimistic with the under class men and next year's freshman class vs previous recruiting classes.

Andrews had numerous offers from A-10 schools

Seems like the consensus here is that the talent level on the BU roster is not any better than isu. Where’s the NCAA bid for the birdies?

You have a good point. Not many people can take the time to pull up a web browser on their cell phone and read / type on it.

Basically you just said people that text message have no life. Great post!

Enlighten me on how I can be as cool as you man!!

So Muller is:

0-2 vs Moser (former ISU head coach)
0-2 vs Mullins (rookie)
0-1 vs Wardle (arch-rival)

You look at Loyola next year and they basically have everyone back. That’s going to be 0-2 next year. Bradley has Childs back and some solid guards back as well. Hard to think we will suddenly leapfrog them. SIU will have to plug some holes but Jones and Domask are stronger than our returnees. Most importantly Mullins has already gotten his entire team to buy into a style of play. That looks bleak as well.

This feels like a much longer turnaround.

I don’t even watch the games. It’s so pathetic and sad.

Illinois State has zero chance of winning the MVC Regular Season, or MVC Tournament in 20-21 or 21-22. So stay away from transfers and JUCO players for now. Hold on to this Freshman class & the 2020 class. I really like Horne, Reeves, and Washington. Let’s establish the four year player’s we haven’t experienced for a long time.

ISU is in a vicious circle, they cant get better till players don't jump ship, players want to jump ship because they aren't getting better. So it is not a matter of what Dan wants, it is what Dan has to do due to the fact that the players aren't buying what he is selling after the season starts and have no chance of any post season.

The problem is who wants to stay somewhere four years with 0 chance to dance? The writing is on the wall until something changes!
