We were down 3 with 7:32 to play. Outscored 20 to 5 next 5 minutes. They were hotter than hell from 3 but we also broke down on some layups. The under glassman played well. I am not sure why Hillsman played 30 minutes.

If our bigs could finish at all it sure would provide relief.

Tayler is starting move a little better. Two straight games where I thought he rebounded better.

Did anyone see where Valpo was down to Drake by 18 at half and game went to OT. Drake won by 2 in OT.

In the last 20 minutes we got beat by 23 points. We just fall apart. How can a team just be so bad for stretches. Each of the last 3 games we just get totally whipped for a portion of the game, not beat, but totally destroyed.

The leadership doesn’t know how to stop the bleeding whether it’s multiple scoreless possessions or whether it’s not being able to stop losing multiple games in a row.

When this team has its head screwed on straight they can be good enough to win.

I don’t know anymore, it’s like I post to try to feel better but there really isn’t anything more to be said. And I ain’t feeling any better.

All 5 of Loyola's starters are juniors and they should get Kaifas back next year. They appear the be setup for a good season next year.

They were down 3 with 7:32 when they ruptured an artery

How many halftime leads has Muller blown in his career? It's gotta be more than most coaches at this stage of their career.

Was really happy to see either Ndiaye/Fisher and Idowu/Bruninga played the vast majority of the first half. the zone was a needed change up after first minutes and it really caught them off guard. Not surprising they made adjustments at half-time. Guards looked tired in 2nd half, were not closing on shots as well as 1st half and not as active on offense.
I understand that it is tough to watch Fisher or Rey missing in-close looks, but playing a single big or the two swings together(Fisher/bruninga) mean that the Redbirds can’t effectively matchup, challenge at the rim, rebound and have a interior presence that opens up the perimeter.

Birds needed a TO in the last 10minutes as that run happened- were they out of timeouts?

Another tough loss.

Okay guys.. it's obvious what Mueller is doing here...

We're TANKING on purpose, for the #1 pick in the draft next year. I mean it's a pretty good strategy if you think about it. Next year, NCAA's baby!

Another tough loss.

They have to provide more offense and relief to the guards. i know they set a lot of screens around the perimeter but they do get opportunities and they need to convert on a more consistent basis.

Rey has to get more rebounds. His positioning is lacking and it shows. Keith is much more active on the boards especially when one of the other three bigs are in the game with him.

Rey and Hillsman are both slow on defense and often cause matchups issues or some of those easy look break downs because of unnecessary switching or playing screens poorly. I generally would not play the two of them together.

I often wonder if we had one additional post player that was effective what would the impact would be. It wouldn't cure all woes, but I think it would make a significant of difference.

I thought Taylor rebounded well again. He is starting to move better. I would keep slowly keep increasing his minutes assuming he can handle it health wise.

30 blown halftime leads???!!!! That's one every 7 games. And, that doesnt include the ALMOST blown leads which there are numerous, too.

Does Dan try to get cute and try new things when up? Is that why they lose the lead or does he just not try to step on people's neck which leaves them vulnerable because dry spells happen and let's teams back into games?

I am genuinely concerned that arch-rival Bradley is recruiting better players than we are. When you look at Childs, Henry from Saskatchewan, and now the kid from Finland you have to wonder how Wardle is finding these kids. I’m happy with Horne and Reeves and think an injury free Bruninga will contribute, but still believe Bradley has out recruited us.

I’m worried more about development. Remember guys like Todd Wemhoener? I can name many (Mark Zwart) that we’re developed like a minor league system. Junior and Seniors need to play like such to allow our youth to develop. If Fisher is mediocre than we need more production from a freshman. Jackie Carmichael’s don’t come along everyday in a program that’s 8-20. It will be more of the Dinma route. I don’t think Muller would have had the patience for Dinma.

I personally think it is because other team's adjust to what we are doing and we don't adjust to what they do. We either keep doing what we are doing, or we revert back to the chuck and pray method of offense and ole brand of defense. It seems to me a lot of the time when we come out with a lead in the second half we ultimately play not to lose instead of playing to win.

The 30 loses after halftime leads is a brutal stat, but you can not say almost lost games. You don't get an almost win. Either you won the game or lost it. Basketball is all about making runs. Teams are going to make a run at the end of games to make them close. If ISU was winning this season but by only 1 or two points each game no one would care. We wouldn't be making the argument we almost lost. The 30 loses stat is remarkable, I knew it was bad the last two seasons but looking at the other seasons that is something. I am not a huge analytics guy but I wonder if Dan brought in someone to look at from the analytics to see what is going wrong. Many teams are doing this with great results.
