Horne will be one of the best PGs in college basketball next season. That is all.
Wow! That is a big statement. I sure hope this happens he played so much better when we didn't dump the ball to the high post and run a weave at the top of the arc. Unfortunately I think many players were playing scared or tentative until recently. Knowing you will get pulled after a mistake will make you play scared. Confidence brings out talent and we are starting to see the talent.

Coach worship is overrated. Time and time again it’s about the players instead of the guy on the bench holding the clip board. The fact that we have young, talented players on the roster continually getting better is all I need to know.

Most good coaches pull players after they make a mistake. That is part of the learning process.
Dan is starting three Sophomores and two Freshmen. They are still learning to play at the D1 level. As Cubird posted earlier, this young group could not get on campus during the summer to get started. I happen to think that the coaching staff has done a good job of bringing this young group together. I like the confidence they are starting to play with. If Dan can bring in a Keith Fisher or Deonte Hawkins level JUCO (or transfer) to play the Power Forward this could be an exciting team for the next few seasons.
Hopefully Redbirds can finish off a great weekend with a W today.

Year 9 and we can’t put two games together to sweep a crappy team missing their leading scorer.

This is Redbird basketball.

Not about winning. They put on the jersey and tried.

I’d say they improved, but....

That first sentence is absolute crap. Most good coaches pull players after they make a mistake? You have been on here harping about how this team is young and we need to be patient. It’s one thing if the effort is not there and they are making mistakes. But how would you ever get a young team to play well if you pulled them after every mistake.

Ridiculous. Also, probably the best way to kill a young players confidence is by making them play scared.

Serious question here...how many schools in the top 15 conferences have not changed coaches if that coach had not got them to the tournament? Honestly, I don’t have the answer. I believe Northwestern stayed with Carmody for 10 or so years, and I assume a few more schools have stayed with their coach for one reason or another. Any other schools out there?

Muller says on the radio there were more parents than usual that made us play poorly. What a pile of 💩
