I was hoping they would push that game back to Sunday on 1/9. Kudos to the MVC for being proactive and getting games scheduled/rescheduled. Feeling more confident that we get most games in with moves like this.

What we know regarding the ISU-Loyola postponement is that the Missouri Valley Conference policy on games affected by COVID-19 requires a team to have at least eight scholarship players and one member of the coaching staff available to compete.

What a weird article. They’ll call out this but questioning Muller’s coaching or job status is off limits. The Pantagraph needs fresh blood. I lost so much respect for Jim and Randy when they attacked Tolentino for scooping them.

Geez, I had the very same thought - play like a tough journalist on a non-issue, that let the "real stuff" ride. Very disappointing.

It comes across as like they're whining about not getting the true story or the full details. Who cares, obviously you have a feeling what it is and obviously the MVC and Jeff Jackson is alright with it. After that it's a non issue imo. Out of all the stuff they can go after ISU athletics for and this. Just really comes across as they are whining.

Poor column. They're grasping at straws because the Com Dept in Athletics is using different vernacular than other schools. Who cares? Everyone knows why games are being postponed, moved, cancelled, etc. It's been almost two years, we know.

Also, the headline could be seen as extremely misleading. "Mums the word....a strange but true reality at Illinois State." Anyone who sees that headline and doesn't click into the column could think, "Oh, ISU is not letting other teams know that they are having positives and continuing to play the games." That was my initial "oh, no" thought until I read it.

Weird "issue" to bring up when so much else could be covered. Local media has really struggled lately. Keep an eye on WGLT. They seem to be on the way up while others are trending down.

I saw "Mums the Word" and thought ISU would not provide any specifics on individual players which is correct.
The negativity on this Forum is hard to take. Muller/ISU cannot say anything. You would be more PO'd if there was no article at all.

I miss Josh. He was a hell of a reporter. He's been all over the place as a beat reporter for the Tampa Bay Rays, Green Bay Packers, and Philadelphia Eagles. He's outgrown BN but it'd be awesome to have him back when the current guard retires in the next couple years.

This wasn't the first or last time Benson/Pantagraph staff got defensive about someone calling out their (lack of) reporting. Newspaper reporting is the wild west, man.

WGLT is awesome, but they only publish on weekdays and don’t have a dedicated sports department. When they delve into sports, they do it well.

They also have Highway 309, which is a fantastic streaming station!

I was more than let down to find out this didn't involve the ISU Ag department. I also would have accepted a story about Mothers Day in England.
