I'm not a Muller defender, but you cannot seriously believe this, right? Right?!?
Oh Goodness - Yes, the part on COVID, does not make sense to me one bit. If players get tested before they are allowed to play, then how do they all of sudden have it less than 24 hours later. I do not understand that. The second part was sarcastic - so of course, young people just go nuts. This is the type of reactions I have worked to quash out of the young people I have been training at my work since June.

I didn’t think contact tracing was still a thing with vaccinated people? Per benson’s article, we had one positive test on Monday causing the team and coaching staff to be out.

You can still be spread the virus and/or be infected by the virus, even when vaccinated. The vaccine helps fight off the virus, limiting your chance of illness or severity of the illness if exposed. It does not help you avoid the virus.

Well, Loyola got a nice Q1 win out of the ISU postponement. Great day for the Valley. Loyola is going to be in very good position for an at large if they lose in St. Louis.

ISU's Sunday game vs Evansville has been postponed. More tough news for the team.

On the positive side, the MVC scheduled Evansville and Drake to play this Saturday at Evansville. Drake's game against Indiana State had been postponed due to issues on Indiana State's side. Moves like this is what will get the most games played for the league. They made a good move switching this game to Sunday before being postponed and they just made another one scheduling Evansville v. Drake. I've been impressed with how the league has handled this so far for the most part.

So, the rule is the team has to have 8 players available to be able to play. The team has 15 players. Williams and Samuels are redshirted. Let's just say Kotov is too. Perhaps a decision was made to midseason/"medical rs" Stadleman and Johnson. Now, that's to 10 available players. Freeman's out due to his ankle. Now that just leaves 2 positives needed to be not able to play.

Is any of this accurate? Very unlikely, but it could be possible and a way to make sure when the team is able to be back, they are at full strength. Slow news day outside of Murray State officially the conference led the mind to wander a bit.

Edit: Birds have 18 on their roster. Not sure why I had 15 on my mind.

Only 8 available players out of 13 on scholarship?
To my knowledge, walk-ons count. So in our case, 8 of 18. But it's really 8 of 15 with the two known RS (Williams and Samuels) and Freeman injury.

I had the questions prior I the eight was only scholarshop or because including walk-ons in the eight would be punative to teams that kept walk-ons. I believe Randy in a recent article stated specifically eight Scholarship players. I have not seen anything else confirming this.

Based on that assumption, need 8 of 12 assuming Freeman is out with an injury. 8 of 11 if Kotov is redshirting.

According to Benson in his article las night "Muller said one ISU player tested positive and others were sidelined because of contact tracing, leaving ISU short of the minimum eight scholarships required by the MVC."

So I take that as you need 8 scholarship players and if we have 1 hurt and 1 indeed redshirting then you may have 3 or 4 guys out or so leaving you short of the 8 scholarship players. That's how I kind of read it.

Admittedly, I didn't see that because I tend to not read Benson but it's good to know its 8 scholarship players that need to be available.

Also, another interesting article by the Pantagraph... Monday a column about how poorly ISU is handling the wording of how games are getting cancelled due to COVID in their hit "mum's the word piece" followed up with an article Wednesday night explaining exactly why the games were moved....turns out....if you want to know the answer to a question, most of the time, all you have to do is ask. I learned that in the equivalent of journalism 101 my sophomore year of high school.

Interesting policy regarding tickets. I get the first part and hopefully the game will be rescheduled. I'm just kind of surprised if the Loyola game is cancelled, you don't get a refund. You get tickets to future game. I am not sure what other universities are doing but this doesn't seem smart from a customer standpoint plus who is going to buy future game tickets knowing the policy if a game is cancelled. BTW, if I am a season ticket holder and I get extra tickets to another game. Do I give them to friends and hope they can sit close?

"At this time, Illinois State is not issuing any refunds. The ticket issued to you for the Loyola-Chicago game will be valid for the rescheduled date. You will not need to obtain a new ticket for the rescheduled date.

In the event of a cancellation, Illinois State will offer additional tickets to any of our future contests, subject to availability"
Here's what Wisconsin sent to season ticket holders (today) re: their game with George Mason on 12/23 which got cancelled:

The contact tracing doesn’t make sense. The girls played their 1st game with 3 players out, other teams have had one or 2 players out. One would think contact tracing would knock everybody out they all have contact with their teammates?
I thought Muller said there were more positives on Friday.

This variant is a lot more spreadable than Delta. Today talked to a 50 year old gym acquaintance that is fully vaccinated that had his elected knee surgery cancelled due to positive test with no symptoms. Yesterday a 40 year old noon basket baller tested + over christmas break with symptoms. Feel like it is only a matter time that....

I hear you. Went to the Badger game Thursday, went to the tavern for pre-game, which always gets packed for the 8pm Big 10 games, and it was, and I was thinking, why am I doing this? Nobody's got a mask on (except the bartenders) cause everybody's eating and drinking. Starting to question all of that again, like when it first came and we ordered groceries and liquor for pick up, etc.
