Buffs/Kansas were cancelled a half hour before the scheduled start time last night. I just went back to The Dark Horse and had a few beers.

Wisconsin/George Mason canceled with COVID issues for the Badgers. Doesn’t bode well for December 29th.

Have to wonder if Dan looks for a new game, I'd think that Dan would want another game before we play @Valpo on January 2nd.

Disappointing, I have tickets for the Wisconsin game. Crossing my fingers but not feeling hopeful.

Yes, UW women were also scheduled to play at noon today vs. EIU, and they cancelled. Lotsa virus running around the UW athletic department I guess. Not sure what to expect for next week. We still have a county-wide mask mandate for public areas, including inside the Kohl Center. Madison, and UW, have been pretty tough on the virus.

  • 12/29: Florida A&M at Illinois
  • 12/29: Midway at Indiana State
  • 12/29: Nicholls State at Purdue
  • 12/29: North Carolina-Asheville at Indiana
  • 12/29: Wartburg at Northern Iowa

hosting Bellarmine/Florida A&M/Nicholls State/North Carolina-Asheville/Prairie View A&M/Western Illinois or roading to Illinois/Indiana/Iowa/Northwestern/Purdue

lots of DII's/NAIA's; all others are in conference play

I am sure scheduling will be very fluid as players come back from the Holiday break

To add insult to injury, Wisconsin AD Chris McIntosh tested positive for the Covid now. And won't be traveling to Las Vegas for their bowl game with AZ. State on 12/20. Can't decide whether I'm better off in Madison for Christmas or Chicago!!??

just cancel the season. its only going to get worse. they'll try everything to avoid government shutdown but I fear that's the way were going. it makes no sense to me because Omnicron is less severe, albeit, more contagious.

Omicron “may” be less severe, that’s not entirely clear yet. But because it seems more contractable those with underlying conditions are still at risk of complicated issues. We need to be cognizant of those less fortunate than ourselves, something far too many people are willing to ignore just to satisfy their own desires.

And fwiw, I think Omnicron is this guy’s little brother:

Running the table until the mvc championship game where of course we lose but we get an at-large 11 seed that's not a buy in game and we make a run to the Elite 8 or adding another person to the Covid toll that youve never met? Quite the conundrum.

My grandfather was one of those people you've never met who was "added to the Covid toll". He and my grandmother have their names in Bone student center due to how much they gave to the athletic department. They were season ticket holders to FB, MBB, WBB and Volleyball for decades. Never missed games. Traveled to all sorts of away games like tournaments in Hawaii,, or the last time we were in the Big Dance. But I guess you never met them so...

Bro, it was obvious I wasn't serious. I actually lost a vaccinated 35-year-old friend from Covid-19. I've had it myself. Was really bad. I was a long runner. Symptoms lasted months. It sucked. I wouldn't never wish that on anyone. I'm sorry you went through that but I was kidding. I figured it was obvious I'd choose a person over a great season (also, I'm a nurse. It's literally what I do). Most here don't like my ideas and the way I speak about the program but that doesnt make me a bad person. I dont think Sarge is a bad guy. I mean he may be. He could have 27 bodies under his basement.

Ok. Genuinely sorry I jumped down your throat then. And I'm actually the one with 27 bodies in the basement. Why I haven't posted in so long :p

Its on me that I should've clarified before responding. Theres too much minimalizing by lots of people nowadays, and that was a gut reaction on my part, which I try very hard not to do. So apologies again. I work in the mental health field and have to bite my tongue alot when I see people who have lost their own family and continue to be in denial or callous. I love ISU athletics to be a distraction from problems in the world (despite how infuriating they can be), but I don't understand people that think its worth risking the health of everyone involved in putting on a D1 game.
