Brandon Johnson 6’8 from Western Michigan. This guy would be like Carmichael. Don’t know if he would look to go P5 or not but Belcher is following.

6-8/220, PF, Western Michigan 15.4 ppg, 8.1 rpg
https://wmubroncos.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/brandon-johnson/8934

We offered him when he was in High School.

Unfortunately, landing him is a long shot.

Not relevant to our interest - but WMU canned their long-time coach Steve Hawkins, so they've got a new regime coming in.

Looks like he started all but one game in 3 years.

Wonder what motivates guys to publish schools they are now considering. Trying to spark a bidding war?

If Kotov and Ndiaye can hold down the 5 spot, Scott and Fisher would be big time at the 4 spot. It’d also feel good to beat out Illinois for him.

With us going after all these bigs does anyone think Fisher might see some time at the three? He seemed like he could guard 1-5 last year.

Defensively, he could guard the 3, but on offense I'm not sure I want to see him handling the ball that much.

I'm not sure Kotov is a 5.

That is the part that worries me. It is just odd is bringing in all these stretch 4s. Kotov and Scott are both stretch 4s.

Maybe Dan knows something we don’t

I don’t think Dan thinks he needs a 5 in his current “system”. 5 guys all outside the arc the first 20 seconds at least of most possessions. But we shall see, maybe he can change...

I’m mostly talking about defense here. Offensively, he’s a stretch 4 type of guy.

I would eventually like to see a lineup of:
DJ Horne
Antonio Reeves
Howard Fleming JR
Emon Washington
Keith Fisher

I don’t think that Dan is going to come up with a Krutwig, Phyfe, Robbins, Primm before August. So I’m good with going with a small lineup. If one of our bigs can develop into a five, than great. If Dan can get a legit five, than great. But I don’t see that happening before the 2020-21 season begins!

I'm still not sure . . .

Are you thinking of a Jon Wilkins comp for him? He’s the last person that big I remember not play the 5 for us.

Guess now Dan doesn’t have to worry about anyone to guard Robbins!
