The announcers kept touting this old time football. Saying it was good football. I disagree. If old time football was good football, it wouldn't be old football. Old time football, to me, is predictable, bad football. Teams that don't adapt with the times, and don't at least mesh old school and new school get left behind. That is what I see with the way ISU plays offense. They have not progressed or transitioned with the times and it shows. Kids coming out of high school aren't playing this style of football on offense and you can't expect them to play it when they get to college. Being set in your ways is not an excuse anymore. Adapt or die. That's why we cant get a qb to run our offense because every year we're having to teach a new style to the team. This is bad coaching and bad football. It's great having an all time defense, but if you can't score, you might as well tell your defense that what they do doesn't matter anyway. Spack needs to fix this over the next few years because if he doesn't, this team will never be more than what it is. And that's an after thought in this state when it comes to college football.
