So based on needing what 8 players available and at least 1 coach that means either we had 10 player positives or all 4 coaches.

Too bad. Game was going to be on CBS Network. Silver lining is hopefully Mark will be back when the game is rescheduled. Their guards dictate their pace of play. Of course faster tempo is better for the Birds.

Interesting policy regarding tickets. I get the first part and hopefully the game will be rescheduled. I'm just kind of surprised if the Loyola game is cancelled, you don't get a refund. You get tickets to future game. I am not sure what other universities are doing but this doesn't seem smart from a customer standpoint plus who is going to buy future game tickets knowing the policy if a game is cancelled. BTW, if I am a season ticket holder and I get extra tickets to another game. Do I give them to friends and hope they can sit close?

"At this time, Illinois State is not issuing any refunds. The ticket issued to you for the Loyola-Chicago game will be valid for the rescheduled date. You will not need to obtain a new ticket for the rescheduled date.

In the event of a cancellation, Illinois State will offer additional tickets to any of our future contests, subject to availability"

Something is just logical. The Birds play yesterday afternoon - and now all of sudden over half the team has symptoms??? Something smells to high heaven. Makes no common sense, that many players get sick so quickly. Sounds like Muller did not want to lose on national TV.

I think it has become a pretty common policy this year across the conference and country.

This is just stupid. There is nothing to suggest many, if any, are experiencing symptoms. Per Benson Fleming had no symptoms and may have been a false positive.

I'm not a Muller defender, but you cannot seriously believe this, right? Right?!?

'Reschedule IF possible'. That likely means it won't be. Since it's one game on the weekend and one game a week the rest of the way, we have no openings. I'm glad we will have 1 less loss. It plays into the winning percentage to determine seeding in St. Louis. And screw Loyola. Let them sit around and not have any games for over a month, it will just make it harder for them to get things together, maybe they get a bad loss or two for being off for a month, 2 games not rescheduled or maybe they have to play SIU on short rest or something. All of a sudden they are a 3 seed and they get the 9 pm game on Friday night. That is the worst game of the tourney to have also.

And I'm sure this would all be kept under wraps with no leaks ever getting out as to what "really" happened.

What the hell?

As long as there are three full parallel days off in-between games for both teams it is doable ... but at this point it may be a BIG IF.

My guess a reschedule can only happen if both LU and ISU have opponents cancel on the same day.

I Google a few

I saw Connecticut, Green Bay, and U of I issued refunds for single game ticket purchases. U of I looking at options for season tickets holders depending on how many home games impacted this year. Penn State issued an account credit for future games

OrangeandBlueNews - Illinois game vs. Florida A&M canceled

I can't imagine preferred walkons count towards the eight. That would be penalizing teams that have kept more walk ons. Can you imagine if we had 5 scholarship players available and three walkons and were forced to play on team with 10 to 13 scholarship players? Another team has 7 scholarship COVID free and no Walkons and they don't have to play. I am guessing most coaches would prefer to play a game with 7 scholarship players vs 5 scholarship and 3 walk-ons.

Freeman is injured so he would be one player out for sure. You need 5 scholarship players other than Freeman to have a positive test. Maybe 4 if Kotov is redshirting and therfore may not count towards the eight (don't know just speculating).
Even if it is 5 positive COVID tests, this is not unthinkable when you look at what is happening with teams across the nation. The kids practice together, stay in a hotel together, play a game, and sat on a bus to and from Valpo. Very plausible and quite frankly I am not surprised. It wasn't a matter if this would happen but when.

Been on here a long time. Seen lots of dumb and biased posts. This one ranks in the top ten all time. It’s one thing to not like a coach. It’s quite another to question his integrity!! Not to mention this couldn’t have happened without our new AD agreeing. Furthermore surely validation would have been provided to the conference.

Loyola was able to get a game scheduled with San Francisco on Thursday in Salt Lake. Will be a good match up between two very good mid majors

This tells me someone or someone's went to a large gathering, caught covid, and gave it to the rest of the team. You are contagious before symptoms. So they all had covid within 24-48 hours of each other it's only logical to think their symptoms would all show up at the same time.

Or someplace the entire team was together in close space like a bus or locker room. Sissoko tested positive. Valpo had a few guys out. Why do you assume there was some massive party without students on campus a week after the team returned?
