Did you see what happened at U of Texas with their football position. They lined a guy up, then fired their coach, and hired the new guy. The firing/hiring happened in less than 24 hours.
If you think colleges don’t put feelers out until the coach is actually fired, then I think you may just be Larry Lyons!
I know they put out feelers all the time, but if you are trying to say that we can do that because U of Texas can do it, you may be vastly overestimating our resources/standing.
That said, colleges can put all the feelers out that they want, but if you tell a coach at another university, "Hey, I got a job for you, I just got to find the money to fire the previous guy first and pay you" they likely aren't going to hold their breath waiting for you to make the move.
