Also, remember that game vs. SIU several years ago during a bad blizzard that had like 103 people there? It'll be like that. No snow Sunday, but subzero temps and NFL Playoffs won't help at all.

The NFL playoffs, in my opinion, is a bad excuse. Even if the Packers are playing, there aren't THAT many Packers fans around and no other local teams are in it. Like pull yourself away for 2 dang hours. Packers don't even play until 3:30. You'll miss the first quarter.

The team badly needs a win, both SIU and Belmont were there for the taking for even an average shooting team. Gotta think a) we are due to shoot halfway decent and b) we owe Valpo, I mean they have been bad since they have joined the conference and we have won what 1 game in 5 years against them?

I remember driving in a blizzard to Carbondale about 25-30 years ago. The win made it worth it.

Your opinion is never wrong Quinnl….but seriously one has to be a true Redbird diehard to sacrifice just about anything to watch, let alone attend, the 2023 Redbird Valpo basketball game. Many longtime Redbird diehards have cashed in on attending Redbird hoop games so expecting the casual fans or students to attend is wishful thinking.
But don’t feel down, despite ZERO Arch Madness tourney championships nor any NCAA men’s basketball tourney at large bids in the last 25 years combined with only being able to make FCS football playoffs once in the last seven seasons …..we are the Pride of the MVC!! We are the MVC all sports champion!!!!

Call me whatever you want, I would gladly trade the MVC all sports trophy for a couple of NCAA tournament appearances. The all sports trophy does nothing for me. A packed arena during the basketball season and an NCAA appearance once every 3-5 years trumps all sports trophy every time in my book.

The NFL playoffs are always awesome. I’m a huge fan. That being said, I don’t think that is any factor in a reduced attendance this for Valpo. The Bears are not in it anyway so… what are the real factors are the bitterly cold temps and snow that may keep some fans comfortably at home, a weak opponent and a team that our fans are still completely confused and unsure about. Hopefully with Chase there, there is now light at the end of the tunnel and the goal to win some MVC games and avoid a Thursday night. Just give us something to hang our hats on and be hopeful going forward to both St. Louis and next year!! It’s been too long……

Go Birds!!!

Avoiding Thursday would be awesome, but probably not practical this year. We will not finish in the top 4 thereby avoiding Thursday.
Just hoping for a .500 conference season and catching lightning in a bottle in STL!!

If the temp is any degree above zero, the 3 pt % has a legit chance to be below it!
