I don’t remember what year the Dayton game was but we beat #2 ranked UNLV when we still played in Horton. I don’t know which happened first but the UNLV game was earth shattering in more ways than one. 🤪 Looked it up 1977😃
I was referring to the history of Redbird Arena.

Good win. When Darius was on the floor with Kendal and Miles, Birds had 3 guys hitting the offensive boards for the first time in about a decade instead of all standing around the 3 point line. Not sure what Luke did to get in the dog house.

I was at the UNLV game, was still in high school and we had to convince our high school coach to leave practice early to make it over to the game. We were up about 3 or 4 rows from the top of the “big set” of north bleachers. Saw guys climbing up and down inside the bleachers because it was easier than to try and use the aisles that were non-existent, it was packed. Could you imagine that today!

It is amazing those bleachers did no collapse. I was in them too, but about 1/2 way up.
I learned my lesson with that game. For all future "big games" I arrived a couple of hours early.
Great memories. Love to see them happen again.

I, too, was at the UNLV game. Sat on the west side uppers.

Got in just as the Horton doors opened and the place packed up pretty quick.
Does anybody remember Billy Lewis coming out to get some early shooting in and when he stepped out the crowd roared and he looked a little surprised!!
Great memory of my college years at ISU.

Can someone please help me to understand if any of the current “seniors” on the roster could potentially return next year? The extra Covid year allowance has me a bit confused.

I was at the UNLV game. One of the greatest collage games I ever attend. Jones and Mayes was one of the top 5 backcourts in the country that year!!!

It is my understanding everyone can return except Lewis for next season. Coach already has 2 scholarships offered and accepted, so he is not expecting that to happen. At this point and only in my opinion, Sissoko, Davis and Schmidt seem the most likely not to be back. With the portal, there is always a surprise or two as well. KEEP RECRUITING AND LEAVE SPOTS OPEN FOR THE PORTAL.

They were a freshman and a sophomore for the UNLV game.

W . . . dodged a bullet . . . 14 TOs, but 9 at half. And 14 assists, but 9 at half . . . Only 7 fouls for the entire game? Refs didn't want to wear out their whistles. Great hustle play by Johnny to the jump ball on their missed FT. Team doesn't lack for hustle and grit, something we've been missing since PLee and crew.
Great teams find a way:)

I believe Schmitt is out of eligibility this year

Anything is possible in the portal but I believe Sissoko is working on the 1st year of his masters degree so either choice with him wouldn't surprise me.
