I fully expected Johnny to throw a behind-the-back pass on his fast-break layup attempt, a la Pete Maravich.
Noticed the same. Refs let them play. Neither team in the double bonus either half. We barely made it to 7. Once again we dodged a bullet when we needed a FT to ice the game and missed. Can’t let that beat us someday. Overall very, very hard fought game by both teams. Great non-conf win! Go Birds!!W . . . dodged a bullet . . . 14 TOs, but 9 at half. And 14 assists, but 9 at half . . . Only 7 fouls for the entire game? Refs didn't want to wear out their whistles. Great hustle play by Johnny to the jump ball on their missed FT. Team doesn't lack for hustle and grit, something we've been missing since PLee and crew.
Yes, the age old questionwhy did we not foul vs letting them take a 3 pointer which could have tied?
No idea. We had fouls to give.why did we not foul vs letting them take a 3 pointer which could have tied?
Yes, more specifically rebounding. That was the difference.Nice win! Foster and Lewis saved us big time!
What I liked about this game is that there were a lot of big plays made by a lot of players. Like you stated, KLew and Myles came up big time. Banks made some big time shots. Burford with some big time baskets off of his offensive rebounds late in the game. Kinziger’s hustle to get the tie-up giving us possession of the ball late in the game. And a HUGE shoutout to Lieb for passing on the 3-pointer and a great move to the basket for his layup (that is what we need from Brandon). A great team Win where everyone fought hard right to the final buzzer.Kendall is frustrating at times. Sometimes a lot. But his gift to our program is energetic offensive rebounding. Please don't forget it KLew! That kind of effort could win us 5 additional games. Huge props to Myles as well. The offensive rebounds down the stretch from Kendall and Myles won the game, imo.
