The problem is I don’t think anyone in the AD actually cares. They don’t even try when it comes to promotions and atmosphere. There’s a good thread I saw on Twitter ripping them a new one. The problem is nobody cares. **** this administration.
No promotion is going to substitute for winning- unless you bring Taylor Swift in at halftime. 😂

All jokes aside this program has gotten boring.

Like everyone on here, I can’t believe how far the program has fallen. Going to the games has went from a great time to more of a chore or obligation.

It’s also amazing that a university of this size can go for almost a year with no president or athletic director. Is nobody interested in the job?

Who of you posters were actually attending the game tonight? You can never pick up the nuances of the individual players, game, and atmosphere through a TV.

There's no moral victory here, ok? But the atmosphere was way better. The player energy, except for the final 5 min when the game was over...was way better. We played much better. We just flat out got beat by a much better team.

Yes, a lot of frustrations but it was a big improvement from the Valpo game.

I'm holding the veteran players (ALL of them but particularly those who play) accountable for the team's attitude, hustle, and energy. That is on THEM. They can pack it in - or fight like they did tonight. Frankly, it is solely up to them in that regard.

Do I like our product? Not particularly. We need players who function as a TEAM. We need better sideline strategy from the staff...much better. But this effort tonight, if that's our standard effort, will get us to the middle of the Valley. No I don't like that standard...but it would be an improvement.

So boys...what's it gonna be? Fight? Or IDGAF?

You talked about leadership and holding veteran players accountable. Our major veterans? Kendall Lewis who is flat out awful this year and has bad body language. Ryan Schmitt who doesn’t play. Hurling Sissoko who doesn’t play. Next? Burford, Kasubke, Poindexter who are all having major regressions. They aren’t leaders. This team has no leaders. A bunch of career losers that don’t know how to win (not calling the kids losers just that they’ve been with losing programs).

Last thing I'll write to go along with your frustrated sentiment, 2011. We create a turnover at the end of the first half, and there's 4 seconds on the clock. The PERFECT opportunity to run something to get a good look.

We do a basic inbounds to Darius for, what in essence, is not a good look. Just a forced shot. SURELY you run these scenarios EVERY day in practice...don't we?? Hmmmmmmmn...

THAT is 100% on COACHING. We almost desperately need a bucket and we offer nothing strategically. Other than go get 'em, kid.

Our coaching still feels green. Yet, you've got to have players that can see the whole floor and we just don't have that.

On to Missouri State.👊

Did not have a chance to see the game, but noticed in the box score that Lewis did not start, and reportedly only played 13 minutes.
It seemed that he and Foster were playing well together the last 10 games…was Lewis not feeling well or was this a coaching decision?

While I do think the overall attractiveness of the ISU job has somewhat worn down, I’m in favor of starting all over again. This is why it makes no sense to have an Interim AD for this long. Men’s basketball has to win at ISU and I’ve seen enough from Ryan Pedon to say it will take far too long to ever win at a meaningful clip here. We need to make the move at the end of the season and bring someone in. It’s been proven now that Brennan was not good. It can’t be trusted for anything he worked on to maintain. This program is too important to the department and university to be losing by 25 at home in front of 1600 people. It’s embarrassing. It’s unacceptable. Worst of all, it’s avoidable. This shouldn’t be happening.
And, there it is, folks. The fire Pedon thread can commence

It is so disconcerting to see what has happened to this program as it has now been a quarter of a century without an NCAA bid! Even more concerning and baffling has been what has happened to this team during the course of THIS year. You usually do not see a team regress during the course of a season without some improvements in some areas. Everything seems to have gone to hell after that Norfolk State game. Not that there weren’t some issues beforehand, but it has progressively gotten worse. I wonder, like many others, if there is a deep internal disconnect with the players and the coaching staff and the culture that is being created. We felt this with Dan at multiple junctures, but this is awfully early in a regime to have players appear to be “checking out.” We don’t know enough inside to make a full judgement, but i see other teams that appear to enjoy communicating and playing with each other much more. The body language is concerning and I fear a trust factor on either end has been broken and may not be repairable. It may have to be completely torn down again. Shooting woes are one thing, but there may be some deep rooted issues here that we aren’t aware of at this moment. Damn I was so hopeful when this season started too. Unfortunately, “This is Redbird Basketball.” Let’s get it figured out and move forward in a different direction.

I can appreciate your message, tone, and sentiment. But I’m in the corner of IDGAF. I won’t be attending anymore ISU mens basketball games until they make an NCAA appearance. It’s not being a fair weather fan. I have been attending Redbird basketball games since the mid 70’s starting off as a student. I have followed faithfully, home and away, donated, etc. I have given a F for 45+ years. But, I’m done until Redbird basketball shows me something in return. Attention ISU Athletics…. You can’t continue to expect fans to give give give, and in return this is the product we receive? 25 years without an NCAA appearance? You should be embarrassed by that fact. It’s like a romantic relationship. One side can’t always give. If that is what happens, the relationship will eventually end. We the fans have been the ones who have always given and we get nothing in return. Guess what? Relationships with fans will end too. The product on the floor is bad, the game day experience is as boring as boring can be, concessions are overpriced and run by civic groups that take forever to serve, there is zero energy in the Arena, and ticket prices/donation requirements have increased disproportionately to the product on the floor, I could go on and on. I can’t continue to give.

Can you tell me what coaches are on your short list to replace Pedon? I am not saying I disagree with everything that you say, but you have to have a plan before making a move like that. It's easy to just say fire the coach, especially on a message board.

Yes, go get the guy from Samford, at least his style is very entertaining and he has a winning program

Ben McCollum. Be the team that gives him a chance to prove what he's done at the D2 Level is legit, and I suspect it is.

We need an acutal President and an actual AD. I'm not saying Dr. Beggs isn't doing a good job, I'm saying we need to remove interim titles so we know these people are staying, so they can hire staff they need/want and start getting work done. Sitting in this inbetween space is killing us both for athletics and the university as a whole.

He was on our shortlist. He interviewed for Valpo too. Idk why he hasn’t gotten a job yet.
