the prevailing thought in the Valparaiso thread is this game we will manage to keep it close but lose ... must be invocation of the "we play to the level of our competition" theory in action. If so, (?)

Bulldogs 73
Redbirds 69

Unfortunately, my actual thoughts is Coach Pedon really seems to think we just need to shoot ourselves out of the offensive woes. Do not see it, set the over/under on ISU points scored at 61.

We'll lose by 29 on 1-24 shooting from 3 and 62% from the line. Won't be able to get a stop, either.

In a surprising twist, ratings on Marquee go up as Pedon closes the game Norman Dale-style with the 4 freshmen on the floor.

Which honestly, might as well anyway. Get them some good minutes and experience so they're ready to enter the portal in March.

Big opportunity here for Chase Walker vs one of the best, seasoned bigs in the league with Broadie. Hopefully, Pedon gives him extended run to show him what CBB is really about. Good or bad, it'll be eye opening for the young man.

He's gotta get minutes. He played 5 minutes last game. I mean I suppose it was kind of close, but he's not getting a chance. What's the point of taking the redshirt off?

Sadly there is 2 outcomes, we get destroyed or we shoot decent hang in and lose by 5-8. Hard to see any scenario where we actually win. Conference home game and feel like there is no shot, that sucks

Ahhh, why can't we bet in Illinois?!! Wow.
I call it the JB Sucks rule, you have to go to the casino to place bets on teams in Illinois. It's the stupidest thing. But it is what it is. I may drive over to Joliet and put $50 down on Drake.

Can you even bet Illinois teams period in Illinois? I thought it was across-the-board not allowed. They were talking about allowing Money line and spread only on Illinois schools, and no props. But I hadn't heard if that ever passed. My app doesn't allow me to bet on Illinois teams for college sports. Doesn't even show up for the odds. I use: College Basketball Lines, Live College Basketball Point Spreads & Odds for the lines

Not on the App. But if you walk into a sports book at one of the casinos in Illinois you are allowed too. I've done it many times as the Hollywood in Joliet. They used to have a deal where if you bet $50 on IL schools you'd get a $25 fanatics gift card. I must have amassed $300 or so betting on different IL schools to win/lose on football. I crossed the river during the MVC last year to the Casino Queen to do it there. Won on an ISU loss last year and had a parlay with SIU. The biggest problems is the minimums are higher, they don't take a $2.50 bet, a lot of times I think the minimum was $10.

I just always assumed since IL schools didn't show on the DraftKings app that it was illegal to bet on IL schools.

I would've never known otherwise if not for reading this board today. I'll have to start heading to Hollywood in Joliet as well (closest Casino to me).

My guess is that at 290 lbs and not playing all season, Coach Pedon is easing him in to hopefully avoid injury. I don’t have a problem with that.

Just curious, Pantagraph article said there were 3000 at the game Sunday. Couple posts from people there said less than 1500. Do they count tickets or actual butts in seats?

In the Larry Lyons years, they always counted butts in seats. They counted it that way for as long as I can remember. I honestly don't know if that has changed or not.
