When I was in high school, I earned HM all-conference. Our conference did not do standard voting as they did with the 1st and 2nd team. Instead, each coach picked the two most deserving players from their own team not named first or second team.Ok, so this is weird ... this is Trinity to UNI to WIU to ??? QB Matt Morrissey ... who is in facta HM all MVFC QB. Can someone .. anyone .. explain why ?
There were just 5 QBs who got 1st, 2nd, or HM: SDSU Gronowski, NDSU Cam Miller, then our own Annexstad, then Morrisey (???), then YSU Davidson.
He is literally 10th in nearly every passing stat .. see below. And in case youre wondering if he was dual threat .. he netted -113 rush yards.
How on earth did he get honorable mention all conference ???
Serious question ... who does this guy know ???

wow .. participation awards at D-I level .. ok.When I was in high school, I earned HM all-conference. Our conference did not do standard voting as they did with the 1st and 2nd team. Instead, each coach picked the two most deserving players from their own team not named first or second team.
You bring up a great point and I think it might be somewhat similar for the MVFC. It looks like every team got a minimum of 3 players, so each team's best 3 players were chosen for HM (how they were chosen, idk). For some reason, a few teams got more than 3 selections. That's my hunch.

i'm guessing no restrictions but if the other universities are not doing same terms/have more favorable scholly terms why would a player take a much more restrictive scholly?...esp in the age of NILThis transfer portal nonsense is a joke,
Can a coach/university offer a multi-year scholly (guaranteed) but make it contingent upon player fulfilling the full term?
For instance, you can transfer after one year, but that year isn’t free? What about an NIL that pays out only if player graduates from university?
also makes me wonder if they have a younger stud waiting in the wings. Odd that he is leaving after their best season as a program.UND QB Tommy Schuster has entered the portal. He has had a tremendous career for the Fighting Hawks. Sad to see him hit the portal. Might not have the right degree program at UND.

From SI:that offer speaks volumes about who may be entering the transfer portal for Illinois state
Jackson joined the Hoosiers before the 2022 season as a transfer from UCLA. At 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds, he mostly played Indiana's Bull position, which is similar to a defensive end or an outside linebacker, with responsibilities to rush the passer, contain the edge and occasionally drop back in pass coverage.
Gaines did not walk on Senior Day. I'm hoping he's staying. From SI:
Replacement for graduates Dinga and Gaines?
Probably speaks more about always wanting strong defensive players, especially ones who can harass a QB.that offer speaks volumes about who may be entering the transfer portal for Illinois state
