I've heard him state that the staff is putting more and more weight behind the Summer camp. He thinks Blo-No and ISU sell themselves. He also likes kids who show some interest in ISU. Hes found some great Central IL talent at the Camp. I'd think they get a chance to prove that even if they play at a small school they can compete with Div 1 talent. Something for anyone with a prospective ISU recruit out there should know.

I know that BB Adams out of SHG said that he was kinda "meh" (for lack of a better term) on ISU until HC Leonard told him he needed to go to a camp up there- he loved it, got offered while there, and committed on the spot... I think camps play a huge role...

Most of us don't pay much attn to the IHSA football playoffs but I like to tune in to the State Championship games if a future Redbird is involved and there is some definite potential.

OL Peter Bussone of Normal Community. The Ironmen are 9-0 in 7A.

Running Back - BB Adams of Sacred Heart - Griffin, Springfield is 7-2 in 6A. I wouldn't count the Cyclones out. They've had some injuries including Adams himself. If they come in healthy they'll be tough to beat. Adams has speed and he's a big play guy. It's nice to load up on beef but those little fellas that fly past everyone right up the middle of the field - them's the ones that score the points.

The guy I'd really like to see is Landen Vesley of Sterling Newman Catholic. SNC is 9-0 in 2A and the top seed. Vesley is a QB now but he projects as a LB'er at Illinois State. It's hard to predict how that will turn out but he's a winner. That's a good place to start.

Checked recently on our lone Wisconsin recruit at this point, Zach Mueller of Schofield D.C. Everest, and they had a losing season and aren't in the Wisconsin playoffs. Hoping we'll come up with someone else. Altho, our commit list is pretty long at this point, may not have anymore room??

Like most Wisky kids Mueller probably wanted to go to UW-Madsion but the really cool thing is the game at Wisconsin in 2022. If Mueller redshirts as he should he'll get a chance to charge onto the Camp Randall Stadium turf - as a Redbird of course. Bite that Badgers.

SHG rolled Chicago Hubbard. These are some first half highlights. I’m sure I’ll find more. #1 is BB Adams. #2 is Tramayne Lee (offered by ISU, committed to SIU). And #13 is Spencer Redd who SHOULD be getting more looks then he is currently.

When you can run in the mud you can run on any surface. I don't know if BB will be an every down back but we don't necessarily need one. We want to have depth at RB so if someone gets hurt another back is ready to go. BB will fit in very well. Gotta love his big play ability where he can take it to the house from anywhere on the field. BB alone will be worth the price of admission.

Our OL commit from DC Everest HS near Wausau, Wisconsin, Zach Mueller, was named first team all state by the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association. Here's hoping he follows through and doesn't end up the next of the long line of Wisconsin preferred walk-ons!!

Just getting around to Friday's news, Mueller was named 2nd team all-state by the Associated Press. Still hoping he sticks with us.

It's getting close to crunch time and we're down 1 recruiting coord. You're our Wisconsin rep so it's now up to you to close the deal with Mueller by any means necessary. Remember what goes on in the cabin stays in the cabin. :D
