Have you been to Turkey?! Great food, beautiful women, interesting and super nice people overall...plus the Lira goes a long way there. I’m mean there is no Portilli’s (or whatever), but he can probably push through the days.

O has often tweeted about the teams not paying their players on time, sometimes many weeks behind schedule. That can get old.

I don't believe Osiris has been paid for last season yet. I think he's with a new team in Turkey, but I'm not 100% sure.

I should share the fact we want him as an assistant coach. :)

Also a dictator leader, state controlled media and internet, and terrorist attacks. Sounds great.

With Moser at Loyola, and the Mullins AAU pipeline to Carbondale, going to be very difficult for Muller to have any recruiting success in state.

I don't buy it. There are so many basketball players in this state for all of the programs to be strong. The challenge is can Muller and staff develop Illinois relationships/credibility and establish their own state of Illinois pipeline.

To be fair, who needs basketball players and connections in Chicago when you dominate recruiting hotbeds like Ottawa, LeRoy, Colfax, Glasford, and Shelbyville. Small Illinois towns are where all the top players are located. By the end of Muller's contract in 2024 he is going to find the next Larry Bird in Deer Creek. Just give it time.

Small Illinois towns have been the source of many great ISU players. We get it. Your pissed. You're taking your money but sitting tight instead of running. God Bless Us, Everyone.

There are a few good players from small towns. Unfortunately, the ones we get all can't play basketball at the division 1 level.

This argument is worthless anyway. Dan appears to have no connections to Chicago so we have to hope some long shots from Florida pay off.

You have to admit, how is this any different than America?
Our leader calls them “fine people”, but they are terrorists among us. I guarantee you without a shadow of a doubt there have been more hate crimes and deaths (terrorist) in America in the last year than in Turkey.
But yeah, free internet porn.

yep, fascist Antifa needs to be dealt with and the lack of on opposing view the left have is a real problem, agreed, like have riots when a conservative is to speak in at a public university and the left breaks windows, or when out to dinner and people spit on them and beat up over a hat. yes those are the closed minded leftists that need to be dealt with.

Good lord, can we keep politics out of the discussion? There are other boards and avenues available for firing off your political opinions. Go there.

Lol,
Someone harping about controlled internet and ironically my post has disappeared.
Before we disparage another country, maybe we should look the mirror, first.
Sucks that O hasn’t been paid. I’m sure that is more organizational than politically influenced.

I stated something about another country, you went on to talk about the politics of the US, which of course encouraged the disagreement or agreement of your take on US politics. I don't allow politics, nothing positive comes of it.

I was trying to point out that maybe O doesn't view Turkey has this haven of vacation and instead sees the other stuff. I know he was just blocks from a suicide bomber in Turkey a couple of years go when a nightclub was blown up.

You could have easily just written that, versus the post above that seems very (politically) general about a country that the vast majority of Americans know little about, much less have lived and worked there (I have). I recognise your stance on politics which was why I was moved by your post to respond in a very similar manner. If you are going to be clear, state that you don’t allow US politics but it’s open season on anything outside its border, because IMO unless a person has such a shallow view of the world, what you posted would be considered politics.
Didn’t know that about O, it is terrifying. I see your case. Impersonal murder happens on a grand scale as well in other places, like the US, for example. I think an argument could be made that danger in all forms exists everywhere, maybe even in the US, e.g. UNC-Charlotte. . (I guess I could have posted that.)

I'm officially in the Very Concerned Camp as to no signings at this point......May 7th.

Dan usually gets a nod from recruits when they visit......not this year.

I'm sure there are all sorts of D1 kids available at this point and Dan/staff R all over several we
have no clue about - we need some Phil Fayne type surprises on the 3 open schollies.

If I'm Dan I simply tell these guards we bring in......"hey, if you can shoot, guard, not throw the ball away
and keep your nose clean off the court - you'll get starter minutes!" Maybe the kids he's bringing in can't
meet the stated standard?

I do believe with last year's class, there was a clear shift in the type of kid Muller was recruiting. Previously, he was willing to take risks on questionable character guys. It doesn't seem he is doing that anymore after practically none of them panning out. Lack of commits could also be directed at the sheer number of players who become available every day, specifically via the grad-transfer route. I'm feeling like we'll get at least one commitment this week. Muller is clearly looking for another freshman guard or two. I would be surprised if the final scholarship doesn't go to a grad or a D1 sit out guy.

That's what I'm thinking too. I think we fill 2 and keep the last one for possible late transfer. I wonder if we are gun shy a bit after almost not having a scholarship for Fisher late in the process. I would ne okay with 1 or 2 of any of the 4 guards we have heard about.
