Mike Zimmer will be a head coach in the NFL as long as he wants to be. If the Vikings fired him today, there would be a dozen teams that would have the checkbook out for him within the week. He is one of the most respected coaches in the league and will never ever be hurting for a job.Mike Zimmer getting heat after the first pre-season game with the Vikings. The former Redbird has had a pretty good run with the Vikings but I think the fan base is getting a little tired maybe of the ups and downs. Zimmer's record since he took over the helm in 2014 is 7-9; 11-5; 8-8; 13-3; 8-7; 10-6 and 7-9. I guess this should be an up year if his pattern holds true. The Vikings got clobbered by the Broncos but Zimmer sat almost all his starters. I can't see any reason to ever get upset or elated about a pre-season game. I wonder how long Zimmer lasts in the great north? I think he probably needs a pretty good season this year. Coaching is a tough profession.

Look at the rosters with those records and then be like "Well, damn. He did that with THAT?!" He is an excellent coach.
