Copleland very well could be taking a break before he takes part in team activities. He hasn't lifted with team and was not at team meeting today. As a transfer me may not be required to take part the first couple of weeks. Hopeful this is the case.

Assuming Dan wanted to save the last available scholarship for someone next year, I still don't understand why we didn't offer a grad transfer the last scholarship. It sure seems like we are thin at the bigs. If nothing else an insurance marker if there are injuries and a body for practices.

That makes perfect sense. They should go out and get a Nick Banyard type. It doesn't make sense to waste an open year.

Considering the school year has started I'm guessing Hawkins was the last grad transfer available.

This. The only guys left were guys who only played scrub minutes for their schools.

Ug, so he can't participate in practice either now. Hopefully as others have suggested, more than one will step up to fill roles.

Transition year. Better this year than next. Could be great for Elijah's development. Glass half full.

This is a tough loss for the team. Need for other guys to step up and fill the void.

Well that sucks. I hope he sticks around. Does he have a redshirt available?

I hope he stays at ISU for the year and gets his academics in order. Then on next years team he can really make a big impression on the team. We need a lights out scorer.

How many scholarships are available now with new recruit for next year committing. Will Matt have a scholarship next year?

Yeah I whiffed on this one. My bad. Guy I talked to didn't hear of the issue that's now at the forefront. My apologies.

Better to bank the money, than waste it on a bum? Maybe no decent grad transfer option was out there for ISU. The athletic department is essentially running a business. I would be glad to see them treat the money as if were their own, and not spend it like the government, just because it's there to spend. If that's indeed the case, it's refreshing to see fiscal responsibility. Clearly, if Dan thought he could land an impact grad transfer, he would have.
