One bid

With all the upsets this week the NIT bubble has shrunk to the point that it looks like we will be a one bid league x 2. Misery St and Drake are in trouble. Does anyone think that a CBI or CIT check might be in the mail from any Valley school?

Why have the NET if they don't use the NET? missedagain and rutgers over teams with a better NET is a joke.

Maybe we get Mo St and Drake in NIT along with UNI? A reliable poster here says so. That would be awesome.

When I hear people say “ we only use NET to put teams into quadrants for wins and losses” I want to throw up. It means that if Loyola is a 25 NET team, it means nothing to help Loyola, but boy if you beat them it is a feather in your cap…. Stupid. Screw the little guys. Over and over again.

Drake is the one seed in the CBI. Would play at home throughout if they keep winning.
Quite a drop off from the NIT to the CBI. You have to pay money to play in the CBI. I suppose it gives a team some post-season experience that they can build on.

And it is my understanding that all games will be played at Daytona Beach. They have moved away from the campus sites. Home field advantage is gone, but Daytona beat Des Moines in March.

Good call. I forgot they were doing that.

The CBI is also playing five straight days. Better be deep and strong.

I remember when the CBI and CIT came out a few years ago. It was a chance for teams to gain additional experience by paying to play. At the MM level, if you weren't dancing or in the NIT, you wanted the CBI to call because it was a mix of MM and P5s. Remember when the Birds hosted Alex Caruso and his Texas A&M Aggies? Those days are gone as not a single P5 team accepted an invite to the CBI. CIT (now rebranded to The Basketball Classic) is always a MM playground.

Drake was left out because two other MVC teams were in. Drake got snubbed.
This right here is how far the MVC has fallen. Here we are talking about being snubbed for the NIT! Think about that for a moment where this conference was 5+ years ago. Being snubbed for the NCAA pretty much meant NIT bound. Now, not so much anymore.

Nice attempt to shit on the MVC for no reason as it’s getting stronger. Loyola made NCAA as autobid. UNI made NIT as the winner of regular season. Missouri State made NIT as at large. This is complaining about a 4th team being snubbed.

I happened to be in Vegas and got to bet $50 on the Birds, based solely on the premise that the ‘13-‘14 squad almost never lost at RA. Unfortunately, they also couldn’t buy a win on the road, but this game happily stuck to the script.
