That’s a fair observation. While I would have preferred we proactively moved faster but there may be reasons we didn’t. The photo development is very concerning but I am going to withhold any further judgement or comment until the investigation is done. I want to stress that I strongly believe all in our administration are very good people doing their best in a bad situation.
The photo development? What am I missing here?

I’m not an attorney but if someone gets accused of something they didn’t say, gets escorted out of the arena and banned then I would think they have had defamation committed against them by the university. On the other hand, just like everyone else here commenting on this situation I have no idea what the hell I’m commenting on.
And now their face is going around twitter. There is damage to reputation and potential earnings losses. The tweet I shared was a woman with a podcast and she should be very careful otherwise that certified letter on attorney letterhead is on its way.

I also want to add that Jeri Beggs is someone who has been very competent, organized, thorough, and on the pulse for a long time -- long before she was AD. I think anyone who's had experience with her can back up that account.
...all that can be true and it sounds like ISU was very fortunate to have Dr. Beggs as a marketing professor. On another note her experience and background for being an A.D. leaves a lot to be desired, even in an "interim" role that will soon be a year. Makes me question the competencies of the individual that placed Dr Beggs in the position.

I believe our administration has competent people, but they missed badly Saturday night and seem to continue to follow the same path. If they have talked with the refs by now, then let it be known and if the refs said they heard nothing, and people on press row heard nothing, and people in the seats around this individual heard nothing, then assemble a press conference and push back on the narrative that is now being driven by idiots who weren't even at the game. By now, though, whatever happens we still look bad and that falls directly on ISU's shoulders.

She might find herself in hot legal trouble with accusations like that. This gentleman might wind up owning a new podcast about Jackson State 😂

What's interesting about these fans boards and my support for ISU...is that I expect perfection from anyone and everyone associated with ISU...and when I don't get my way the highway it gives me fodder for my thumbs to go wild on my phone or my metacarpals to do da cha cha on my keyboard.

I'm sure I'm the only one, though. Focker OUT!

I hear ya but were you there? I would remind you that the heat started when NFS head coach began marching across the court. It looked like he was coming after a few fans or one of our players. It absolutely looked like that. I'm sure Ryan took offense. I would have. Then, NFS head coach was corralled back...got back to the sideline, then he is the one who started yelling at Ryan. Then he started walking towards Ryan, Ryan started walking towards him and then Ryan completely flipped his lid, which was unprofessional. I will say it didn't feel like Ryan was challenging him to fight. It felt like Ryan, in the moment, was simply standing up for ISU BOLDLY. I'm a mixed bag on Ryan's reaction. It WAS a bad look, yet I'll tell ya...I kinda liked it, too.

Now, NFS coach MAY have had good reason to do so. But in the heat of the moment, and it got hot quickly...it was confusing and competitive.
That’s exactly what I saw, too. If I had been Pedon I would have been pissed.

Well the face/image appears to be on this redbirdfan website and more importantly now is circulating over X/internet. IF (i have not idea of guilt or not ) the dude is innocent this is your nightmare scenario....your image being associated as a racist and easily available on the internet. At some point probably soon a name is going to be linked with his image and the racist label as well. OUCH!

If he is guilty then good deal and I am glad he is exposed!

If is a big word succinctly expressed in two letters.

If so, tonight might draw a record crowd, but I doubt there will be many new revelations. I’d imagine IF they even discuss what happened, Pedon’s response will be carefully measured and then they’ll proceed to discuss the game itself.

Coming out of this, does ISU in its investigation make recommendations regarding courtside seating? We were among the last schools to introduce it, so they could always replace some or all of them with LED ad boards. The other possible recommendation would be to make those seats alcohol-free.

I’ve sat courtside a few times and there have been a number of folks there who were “well-prepped” by tip-off. We have no idea how much the fan(s) in question consumed, but alcohol tends to make people say things they shouldn’t.

My guess would be there’d at a minimum be a strict courtside code of conduct coming out of this. If our fans don’t engage the chatty opponent, does he keep baiting them all game? The well-off adults should be held to a higher behavioral standard than the 20-year-old college athlete.
I cannot think of another sport where the fans are allowed access to the playing surface without even so much as a "faux" barrier of sorts. I always thought it would be the seats between the scorers table and the opposing team bench at the Peoria Civic Center where there would first be an "off the rail" event. Just too many things that can go wrong without allowing for a sufficient window to intervene. Whether this did/not happen, it shows how easily it (or something more) could.

The game feed is available on ESPN+, so anyone can take the time to get a screen grab. Placing on the interweb/Twitter just makes it easier access for the "fire / aim / ready" contingent.

I am really having a hard time putting any stock in this. If someone caught screenshots of me in the stands, I could be accused of who knows what - without any intention of Hamdonger doing anything wrong!

This really seems ridiculous to me. If I'm wrong I'll stand corrected 100%.

When in doubt, just go double bird.
