Tailgating rigs are lined up... temperatures will be 50 or so... could be a lot worse. if you are in Fargo. walk the tailgate lots with your Red gear on, you'll be overwhelmed with free drinks and food

Fun way to spend a Friday night in Fargo? Checking to see if airplanes are on time?

I will say this: a lot of our guys seem really excited to play this game. They aren't overly cocky but some of their social media indicates overall excitement from "getting their shot to play No.1." This could be a good or bad thing. It could be bad if they go in thinking "we are david, they are Goliath and we are ready fighting an uphill battle from the start." It could be good if they go in understanding the importance of the game and how important it is to focus.

Birds have been notorious for slow starts this year. If they can get off to a fast start and score on the first possession, I like their chances. If not.... not so much.

That 17 minutes screws us over so it takes 4 overtimes for us to win on a 2 pointer.

Hard to know which Redbirds will get off the bus (air bus??) - the dudes who humbled CSU Rams, or the ones who got schooled in Springfield MO.

Bison a little nicked up at RB maybe, but you know, if JRob wasn't playing and we had to line up with Markel, we wouldn't feel like there was gonna be that much of a problem. So I'm sure the Bison figger #2 RB will be up to the task.

And it's hard to pick against the Bison in the Dome, no matter who the opponent.

The stats battle is pretty much a draw, altho you have to take into consideration our game vs. St.X. Two numbers large in the Bison favor - they've got 21 sacks, we've only got 11. We've allowed 11, them 8. Gotta protect the QB!! Also penalties - they've got 20 for 297 yds, we've got 39!! for 355 yards. Gotta play a clean game today, no help to the Bison!!

Here's the two games for the Bison I'm looking at as markers - at Fargo, SoDakota St. made it a 21-17 game. On the road, Bison gave up 31 to UNI, but hung 56 on the Panthers. So, you can score on the Bison and you can hold them below their average. Need to do it on the same day tho!! :lol:

So, my optimistic side says:
Soaring Redbirds -- 28
Big Slow Cows -- 24

My pessimistic side says:
Bison -- 35
Birds -- 17

I know that's cheating.

Our wins have hidden our penalties. We need to play cleaner as opportunities to make a big play are few, and we can't afford for penalties to take away any of them.

I see this as a tight game. I do think we'll run, but we'll have less success than usual. I also think we'll slow down NDSUs runners.

Whoever hides their plays better, and confuses the other side, will likely win. I think both teams are stout enough that they can't be one dimensional and win.

Currently in Santorini on my honeymoon...it's almost 10pm, wife's asleep...and I'm ready to watch some Birds. I get ESPN+ dialled up and I was even was able to connect my laptop to the TV provided in my airBNB...only to find out ESPN+ is blocked in Greece due to "content rights"....got to be kidding me. Anyone have any ideas, i'm crushed.

I do not like the jumbo formation with a fb and two tight ends. Unless you run play action out of that formation, it is difficult to run the ball. NDSU will just load the box.

After this 3 game losing streak they are going on, Davis’s supporters won’t be able to use his won/loss record to defend him. He has poor judgment right now.

I'm not going to panic .. our youth got taken to shed on the interior. But I hope everyone who blindly annointed our QB as having "it" are done with this nonsense. He doesn't pass or run like people wanted to believe. The August camp stats revealed is weakness, and most of us didn't want to believe it. He has some upside, but it will obviously take time and I was not convinced he was our guy. Too many people want to blame Kolbe for all our problems last year ... this OL who struggled today is in fact a year better than they were last year .. and that is what Kolbe played behind last year, and with an OC who was on verge of being fired along with most of his staff.

I don't know what the answer is at this point .. coaches have made their decision and are clearly fully invested in making it work with Davis. I'm not going to panic and presume we have no chance next week hosting SDSU, even with Davis. But at what point do they have to look another direction ... times a wasting getting someone else ready. Playoffs are real possibility this year. The defense and OL will learn and recover from this .. will our QB do same ?
