At first I wondered why they didn’t keep Muller’s 30-day notice private, but I’ve come to understand why they made it public right away.

We’re a public institution, so anything put in writing - as a 30-day notice would have to be, I’d imagine - is subject to a FOIA request. ISU could drag its feet or redact sensitive info, but it wouldn’t be hard for an armchair journalist to piece together that Muller had been given notice.

Assuming word got out had AD Brennan not made it public, many here - and elsewhere - would have referred to it as a cover-up. At which point Muller would have likely resigned to avoid further distraction anyway.

Yep. Being smart and nice guy doesn't hack it in this business. Same goes for Pedon. Get us dancing or get out. The clock has started.
Same goes for the A.D, - "Athletic DIRECTOR"

of all of the athletic programs in relative Illinois State history, you have Leanna Bordner doing an awesome job on the Title female side.

Greenspan gave us some cigar chomping and scotch fun during the Stallings and Berry days.

We really underappreciate how great Sheahon Zenger was. Man if we could have hung on to him, but his comet has flown and burnt.

Kenny Mossman (who should be a BIG10 or wherever he wants) AD once told me "As long as Larry Lyons is taking care of the economics of the department, it will be o.k."

There's a difference between being the "cool kid" in class and administrating.

The starting post feels itchy for me. And, no, for the whatever # of posters that think this a "Dan Love" thing, it is anything but. This is just the most peculiar of coaching changes in very peculiar times.

Kenny retired as the #2 man at Oklahoma Dec 31st and is now a full-time minister. His boss at OU, Joe Castiglione, interviewed for the ISU AD job when Wellman left.

It's clear from your entire post that at some point in time, you were on the inside at ISU or closely connected.

not the way I took it ... but then I wasn't looking to pile on either
Not looking to pile on. Just thought that it was interesting.
After all, there were rumors the players had a meeting and decided it was better to finish without him.

Muller gets fired. Meets with team and tells them. Claims he asks them if they want him to finish and they say yes. Let’s be honest, nobody is saying no to his face. They part then next afternoon it’s “too weird.” Easy to see why there are rumors.

It’s simple- if muller wouldn’t have had the meeting in the video with valley media guy- whining! You wouldn’t even be talking about it! Muller is the one keeping the conversation going by continuing to bring it up! He has 1 million reasons to be happy ! I don’t care- I’m ready to see what coach Pedon can do!
