Dan confirmed an additional meeting. He even said something to the tune of- We decided it wasn't a good idea for him to coach. He didn't elaborate really past that. Instead, he kind of squirmed around making excuses.

Nowhere did Dan imply that the team decided he should not coach anymore. A new AD pulled the trigger quickly with money left on the contract. He even fired him mid-season to ensure that we get the best shot at a coach and that coach could hit the ground running from a building the staff and recruiting standpoint. DM took the decision with class because that is who he is. It should be all goodness right now. WTF?

what happened with all the attention Dan has been getting I assumed we won the tourney and we were dancing again am I wrong?

Geezus, Xavier is parting ways with its coach DURING the NIT tournament run, the day after a win vs. Cleveland State??? Now THAT is awkward . . .

That is interesting. Could be more to the story. But zero NCAA appearances in four years will lead to that. I think with the attention the tournament receives now there is zero patience for not being in it.

I had a Stretch Armstrong when I was just a young Redbird. I was determined to break Stretch...by stretching him farther than he'd ever been stretched, for stretch sake. I accomplished the task. It was some kind of weird gooey center. I now refer to him as Gooey Armstrong. Rest in peace, Stretch.

I figure this was a better topic than the one that keeps getting talked about.
