We need our shot selection to be better. Luke had 4 fouls in 6 mins. Davis and Malachi couldn’t hit from deep. Like to see them stop shooting from deep before going a combined 2/15.

We played hard and fast and only had 8 TO's. We also out rebounded them. We really struggle shooting and I believe UK blocked about 9 shots and altered many others. If we play that hard in the MVC, we will win more than we lose. Foster....WOW!

A big point loss AT Kentucky is not the end of the world. Except the 3 point shooting has to be better. At this point in the season if you are not hitting at least 35% you should not be shooting them. ISU needs to play 2 point ball if they cannot hit threes. I know the game has changed but if you cannot make them it is the same thing as a constant turnover. If ISU shooting percentage does not get better it is going to be another long season.
I’d rather make the threes, as well, but given how we offensive rebound it’s not the end of the world to jack them up. I haven’t seen statistics on this, but it would seem logical that the O-Reb % would be higher on threes due to unpredictable caroms, no?

You would think that our 3 point shooting would be at least as good as last year since we now can score in the paint. Ryan should get some of Lieb's minutes until he can hit more fts than 3s taken.

I will say I was pretty disappointed in the Kentucky fans. We stopped at country boy brewery on the way into town and the bartender told us he never watches the games in public because the fans don't know basketball. After spending time at bars and the game and taking to fans here was 100% right. I have never seen a fan base so clueless. They didn't no the game and not a single fan knew where Reeves came from. They all just kept asking why do many issues people were in town.

Wish we could have kept it closer, but not disheartened. Kentucky is a machine and a potential Final 4 team. Watch for KY vs. Tenn as two of the best teams in the country. We played hard, Foster had a great game and was honestly the only body that could match up with the power of an SEC big. So many wide open three’s missed and once again poor free throws and overall shooting. KY shoots 57% from the floor and 44% from three. No team has a chance against that and their superior speed and athletes are dominant at any level. What I cannot take anymore is Lieb seeing the floor (even for 12 minutes). He is contributing nothing to this team outside of a tall body and occasional rebound. Why is he shooting three’s (again)?? No points and cannot make a free throw to save his life. Soooo disappointed that he is playing and Chase is not. What a waste of a transfer portal signing. We were bamboozled by the fact that he played for the Illini. I still do see this team performing above expectations in the MVC and finally putting the end to Thursday Night in St. Louis. Both Pence and Kasubke continue to baffle me beyond belief so far this year.

Thought they played really well considering the opponent. I am also baffled by kasubke and to a lesser extent mal. Luke will show some great defense but then just disappears. I was really hoping moving mal off point would allow for a lot more shooting but just can not hit. Hoping we figure out this shooting soon.
Can not wait to see Myles against the better mvc teams. He played great all game but those first 10 minutes, he was a beast

This is what I was alluding to earlier when talking about being more frustrated. I didn’t expect Pence to contribute Y1 and was told I was wrong about that going back to last year. While I didn’t think he would be ready, I did also think the tandem of Kasubke/Malachi would make it harder for Pence to see the floor. If you include Jordan Davis in that and make it a trio we potentially have the worst off-ball guards and wings in the MVC. Pondexter is 12/50 from 3. Kasubke is a walking foul who has only attempted 12 total shots inside the arc, while turning it over more than he’s assisting others. Jordan Davis looked lost for a month and a half. I get it’s easy to blame Lieb, but there are guys who we needed to have good years to be a really successful team who not only aren’t doing that, they’re worse than last year.

Ok here goes nothing I guess. Yes as a team we’re a bad deep ball shooting team this year. Mal have been really bad at it, I agree. Shooting hand wrist still bothers him from the trip to the er after a practice after the 3rd game of the season, I also believe he broke a finger on his shooting hand a while back this year that wasn’t taken care of. To top it off he’s been playing with a bum right ankle as well. This is a perfect reason while only one of many I’m not to bash a kid competing. Some of us adults probably would take a day off from work because of minor injuries. I myself years ago broke three toes on my foot and didn’t miss a minute of work. No excuses ever for me for absolutely anything. I’m just saying fans react and speak when they’re clueless to the question why. There were no bench production last night against the No. 8 team in the country, one who like to play 100mph because of their athleticism, what did any of us really expect to happen. I thought going into this game we’d lose by 25/30 pts. I want surprised at the outcome. Quick question how many UK’s are in the Valley. Let me guess, none. The starters put up 65 of the teams 70 pts. The starters shot 47% from the field. Come on man get that consistently from them in the Valley and they will win more than they lose. More assists to only 8 turnovers, so what are the fan base really crying about. THIS WAS AGAINST KENTUCKY.

Fair points u make Pops. I believe the majority of fans expect Mal to break out in the near term. He can shoot and will MAKE again. Let’s get him healthy if possible - Johnny is really the only sub to backfill some offense.

We r a poor perimeter TEAM at this point but again, gotta keep the Faith on the shooting front.

My biggest concern is with kids confidence to shoot and MAKE. Several must see the ball go thru the hoop……..soon!!

Guessing Rupp was handing out free mini sub coupons after the game. Our charity game could use some charitable contributions.
