What I took away from Lexington was that Foster will compete with anyone-play the 5, defends, rebounds and gets to the basket when they give him the ball in the paint. Lewis showed he can be an asset at both ends on the boards when he can play the 4, just overmatched when forced to play at the 5. For the first time in many years, we’ve got players around the basket after shots and I hope that will mean good things in the MVC. Nobody in the Valley anywhere near the size & athleticism of KU. Banks and Burford have already been taking the drive more against overplay outside. Mal still making the transition from an offense dependent on creating perimeter shots and now able to create looks inside-out. Coaches need to help FT shooting now and everyone on the bench needs to focus on getting better defensively. I didn’t expect much more against Kentucky-but it was a great opportunity to see what a top 10 team looks like. On to the Valley.
