Not surprising that Howard is not retaining anyone. If he fails it will be 100 percent his own doings.

Reports are they are keeping Saddi Washington on. He's been at Michigan longer than Yak and Haynes.

It'd be great to go play over at UT. Muller has obvious connections to Yak, and has a previous relationship with Shaka after doing a H-H in his first few years at ISU while Shaka was at VCU.

I see little chance of that happening. Shaka needs wins and a tourney run. He’s 71-66 overall, 10 games under .500 in the B12, and has not won an NCAA game there (2 bids).

Yak should help the UT staff but what happens if they have a third straight losing B12 record? Another season without an NCAA win?

Texas will have a big buyout to pay.

I have a strong feeling that in 6-8 years, as Yaklich is leading his own program somewhere, Michigan is going to wish they'd gone with him over Howard.

The Yaklich journey is very inspiring and it's something I reiterate to my kids alot. Master a skill, master your craft, pound it, shape it, be so good at it that they can't ignore you. Then you will always be marketable. Degree or no degree.

Only thing I would add is to make is something you want to do. Being really good at something you don't particularly like doing--and having that be what you're doing with your life--can be its own form of hell.

DeAndre Haynes is staying in the B1G, as an assistant at Maryland.

Big for most schools but not for Texas. Like Texas A&M and Alabama, they could buy a coach out for $25 million and be ok. Would they like to? No. Could they? Easily.
