It's looking like Howard is going to get the nod. It's amazing Yak was even considered. His career trajectory is a great story.

Why is this even a story on the Redbird site? We’re now living vicariously through assistant coaches that were here for what...2 years ?

You know the #RB4L exists for a reason, right? Yak is a great story. Never played a minute of college basketball, was a manager on ISU's team, fast forward to high school history teacher/coach to D1 assistant, to being a candidate for one of the best jobs in the B1G. Amazing trajectory for this Redbird. Pretty sure we had a thread for Dana when he got the HC job at Mo State. Same situation.

When I don't want to read something on here, I don't click on it. Maybe that's just me though?

:text-+1: Not only that, but he was an intimate part of the Redbird7 experience. If you can't celebrate him, throw out the window anyone who's ever worn the uniform or coached for us. You probably still hold it against Will Robinson that he left us and went to the Pistons. That statue outside of Redbird - A JOKE.

Goodness gracious ya freakin' pattycakes.

I guess since there is nothing else to talk about until November we have to fill our cups in a joke kind of way

Austin is a cool city. UT has a great campus. Only issues are the horrendous traffic and the oppressive heat.

great beer, great food.

It'd be great to go play over at UT. Muller has obvious connections to Yak, and has a previous relationship with Shaka after doing a H-H in his first few years at ISU while Shaka was at VCU.

Yak at UT would be a great hire for Shaka. He needs to pick things up a bit down there and I believe Yak can be a YUGE asset to that program.

this could be great for ISU. having an "in" to schedule games against a *potentially* good p6 team can only help the birds NET rating in the future.

DeAndre Haynes is not being retained at Michigan either.

Not surprising that Howard is not retaining anyone. If he fails it will be 100 percent his own doings. I am a little surprised Michigan went the route of Howard. Just seems to be a completely different approach to their thought process when they hired Beilein
