This is my point exactly. I know it’s not Heins fault he was offered a scholarship...and I don’t blame him for accepting. But, until we get back to recruiting D1 athletes...and trying to get the best players available...we are going to be below average. I honestly think at this point Muller has respect issues on the recruiting trail. That’s why he has a jet to Florida.

Just hoping they don't get the internet down there in Florida and catch wind of Miller's bad rep.

False, everyone got in on Chastain late. Nobody was sure he had the talent for this level since he played at 1A Leroy. He blew up a bit as a spring recruit. Similar to Bruninga which Muller won.

Quite frankly the central IL recruits that end up big time players are few and far between since Peoria has mostly dried up. We need to recruit Chicago better. Some of ISU’s best talent has been guys like Paris, O, Rico Hill, etc.

While technically true about the offers . . . that does not mean Porter wasn't recruiting him before then. It's not at all uncommon for coaches to recruit a kid without offering until they're sure the kid can play at that level or will be eligible.

Chastain visited Loyola his Junior year. Then he hurt his knee and any interest died down. It took him recovering and going on a run to state to regain interest and get offers. It was a very quick recruitment due to that. Can’t hold that against Muller.

I'm guessing that coach has seen that the planning that went into last season's team went poorly. I understand that JJ was a...struggling defender (almost all CC transfers are because you don't make the JC AA teams by playing defense), but he was BY FAR the best shooter on the team and the only one that could hit a 3 with any regularity. Coach should have had him in the lineup 20 MPG every game. If he gives up 18 points a game on defense, but scores 22, then it is a W.

I really don't like the look of this right now. And that is coming from ME- Mr. Koolaid.

I always wondered why basketball doesn't do a plus / minus for each player like in Hockey. I wonder who our worst player would be on that one? Tinsley? Hein?

Once again the uninformed perpetuate.... do yourself a favor and get a hold of stat broadcast. They are located in Phoenix. They keep +/- stats which I think is a very fair indicator over the course of a season. The player with the best +/- on the team was.... Hein. By far....
Second piece, you take it from here and dig in and find the stats as to who is #1 in the conference with this stat. Think it’s just a one-year fluke?? Check to see who is number one on the team last year. Bring back the answer to the crowd and then continue on with your Hein bashing. Facts suck. I know....

Ok, got it. If Hein doesn't come back it's because Duke came a calling ....
