As hinted previously in the Hein-Copeland Thread. Josh Jefferson is leaving the program. Best of luck in the future, JJ.

Seems like he was in Dan’s doghouse. Was it for defense? We really needed his 3 point shooting for next year.

Maybe he thought Boyd, Hillsman, etc. would play over him.
You truly think that is the driver after this past season? Jefferson had games when he couldn’t get on the floor with a depleted ISU team and it had nothing to do with the players around him. Looking forward to ISU no longer having the Milik and Jefferson types.

Weird. Last week he was the athlete that called me to thank me for my support of the WSF! Pretty standup guy to do that knowing he was leaving. I wished him luck for a great season next year and he seemed positive about the future. I had seen the earlier thread but wasn't feeling rude enough to ask him whether it was true!

That doesn't surprise me about Jefferson because he seemed like a good guy. He did get down on himself when things weren't going well.

It was for lack of defense.

He seemed like a solid kid and had a decent shot. He did not play defense though and you better have an offense like James Harden to make up for that.

I am looking forward to the time we no longer have roster turnover every year. I know there are transfers across the country but it seems Dan has an inordinate amount. Transfer U

Dan's best year turnover wise has been his worst by far. He seems to thrive better when hes churning.

Good luck where ever you land JJ. Hope you get your shot back. You had me riding on high hopes at the beginning of the year.

Agreed! In the beginning I thought we had the next Tyler Brown. I think once he started getting feedback on his defense his shot stopped falling. Seemed like a good kid but there were a couple of timeouts when he was in the pine that a teammate had to escort him to the huddle. With Jefferson transferring gassman comes back so Dan has only lost 1 transfer this year. Pretty good considering the NCAA average. JJ good luck at your next stop. Find that shot again and you will have a great senior year.

It's too bad because the kid could shoot, he did average 23ppg a year ago (yes JUCO) and he could get buckets. I think offensively he would've really helped us but it's more and more and more clear to me that Dan is not budging anymore regarding the player attitude he wants...and it starts and ends with defensive mindset. And if you want a defensive mindset, it begets mental toughness - as basic as it sounds.

Win or lose. The clock is ticking...

Listen, Milik had two seasons of really good numbers - minus turnovers and bouts of immaturity. He's a GOOD basketball player, he deserves our applause, and he's got an overseas pro paycheck waiting in a league substantially better than where Clarance is playing.

But it almost seems (or looks) as though Dan feels he betrayed himself by signing Milik.

Did he review JJeff in a similar light?? I was really hopeful for JJ.

So, our defenders can’t shoot...and our shooters can’t defend. Sounds like a recipe for failure.
